Is it possible for you to change Kirikae's interface? I would like if
Kirikae would pop up on the springboard after doubletaping, and it would
be somewhat transparrent like the blue iPhone UI, and not flat like the
current build.
If you have no clue of what i'm talking about, i mean like the iPod
controls when you doubletap while it plays in the background. Just a
bigger pop-up with the "slide to quit" like the current build.
It would also be awesome if Kirikae is themeable.

iPhone/iPod Touch model: 3GS

Brief description of the problem:
Often when I have used Kirikae to switch between apps, and an app has been
running for a while,
spring board stops responding (e.g. either to a press of the home button, or to
selection in
Kirakae).
A respring fixes the problem.
Not sure whether Kirikae is the precise cause, but this never happened before I
installed Kirikae.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start an app on backgrounder white-list
2. switch apps a few times with Kirikae
3. Wait a while - spring board stops responding eventually
Please provide any additional information below.

would be cool to make some drastic UI changes, at least as a configurable
option. my idea was to do something that behaves like Safari.app does, or
similar to WebOS on a Palm Pre. press+hold/double press to trigger Kirikae,
and have it give you minimized safari sized app windows, that you can thumb
through. or 4 panels, if you have more than 4 apps backgrounded, they would
be placed on the next page.
have kirikae take a snapshot of the screen of each app as you use it, and
use it for the tile to represent the app. pages through them, with a little
red X and the top right to close the app. first page would be your defined
favorites page.
see attached for an idea.. thoughts?

iPhone/iPod Touch model: iPhone 3GS
Firmware Version: 3.0
Brief description of the problem:
After installing MultiIconMover today, everytime I move a group of icon and
want to validate as written in the documentation, it does it (love this new
feature by the way), but opens the kirikae menu at the same time (which
should open only after a long press of home as I set it up this way). I
wanted to report this problem on iphone-tweaks project too, but did not
find the "issues" tab there, and the mailing list seems not very active.
Therefore I report this problem only here, but I am not quite sure if it is
more a kirikae or a MultiIconMover problem.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start moving mode on home screen
2. Select some icons to move
3. Go to target page
4. Click home to validate
5. Enjoy the move of the icons with a bonus Task switcher window opening :)
Please provide any additional information below.
If needed, I am available to do more tests :)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Lockdownd
2. Select an application to lock, in Lockdown
3. Open application just locked down

another tab next to favorites that had all application listings would be
awesome. So that you
could switch between all apps.
Make backgrounder and kirikae one application and one download.
Maybe a toggles tab. Make something like sbsettings built into the shortcut. I
hate sbsettings
for it's small buttons but I like the easy toggle on off without leaving what
you are doing
When it opens there is no top navigation bar. I think there should be one. But
when you
have the black task bar the black navigation bar comes up but when the grey
taskbar is up
then the normal blue navigation bar comes up

Again, I loved Kirikae BUT I find it counter intuitive that I have to swipe an
app then click
close to close it. What I believe would work much better would to keep the
swipe but
remove the need to click close after, but this can be left in for the insecure.
Some
implementations of this outside of simply removing the close button could be as
follows.
Have the app after being swiped become highlighted in red, thus indicating it
has been flag
to be closed. The closing of this app could then be carried out in one of the
two following
methods: have the apps close when kirikae closes next (when an app is launched
or the
home button is pressed), or have the apps close after a time has passed (a
timer could even
appear where the close button once would appear and count down until the app
will close).

Brief description of the problem:
Since Kirikae is also a launcher (I'm thinking of it as a Stack replacement
actually) you could include the option to move the icons on the favorite
tab, so that the most used apps could be moved on top.
Besided that, you could enable a different view (smaller icons maybe) so
that is fits more apps in the favorite tab.
I'm including some screenshots so that it's more understandable.

If an app has been added to the Kirikae favorites list and after that
deleted from the iPhone/iPod because the user no longer uses it, that entry

this is to reinstall the app an remove it from Kirikae while the app is

An optional grid view would be nice (like on the home screen). To close an
app you could select "edit" and then an X could appear (also like home
screen). And the current application gets for example a different background
color and is always the first one.
This way you could even combine running apps with favorite apps on one
screen. The first two rows are running apps, the second ones are favorites
(separated by different colored background or some border etc.). Or three
rows running apps to one row favorites. Maybe even with horizontal scrolling
or page switching (like on the home screen) for more apps.
PS: Sorry if this isn't the right place for feature requests. Please let me
know. Thanks! Great app!

iPhone/iPod Touch model: iPhone 3g (But probably affecting all models)
Firmware Version: 3.0 (but probably affecting 3.0.1 and 3.1)
Brief description of the problem:
This sounds a lot like some of the other problems/requests dealing with
music controls, but it is different.
On the previous version (r41 I believe), if, when at the lockscreen, you
double tapped the home button (even with kirikae set to double-tap) the
ipod controls for the homescreen would still pop up. They would obviously
not when actually in any app or on the springboard, but as long as you were
on the lockscreen they would.
Now with the latest update, (r81) the ipod controls no longer pop up on the
lockscreen. I can't see any reason why someone would purposefully do this,
so I figure it a bug.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Upgrade to svn.r81
2.Set invocation to double tap home
3. Try opening ipod controls on lock screen.
Please provide any additional information below.
A work around would be of course to use another invocation method.
As a note, I was so happy when kirikae finally came out. I had gotten
hooked to the previous backgrounder :)
Thanks,
Kory

This is to request a new feature. I would like for there to be a setting in
kirikae to make it so
even I I have Backgrounder installed, kirikae doesn't background programs when
switching
apps. For 95% of my apps, it's not useful to background them, and just wastes
memory.
Ideally, kirikae would preserve an app's existing backgound state, and also
would respect
Backgrounder's Always-enabled list and background those apps, but not
background other
apps. Thank you.

One thing that would be amazing is if you added brightness settings and wifi
toggles to
kirikae. If you're in the middle of a game currently you have to use
backgrounder to go to the
springboard or somewhere with the title bar enabled and do it with sbsettings.
Also if you
added memory cleaning to the mix you could fully replace sbsettings, at least
for me.

I love kirikae but I hate that the program closes when I close the current app.
What I would
like to see instead is kirikae would make the springboard the current app,
which is effectively
what happens now but keep kirikae running so I can choose another running, or
favorite, app
to launch into instead if I so choose.

Please provide any additional information below.
The entry's background color changes permanently to grey but nothing else
happens. Tapping the entry again changes nothing (no task switching,
background color stays grey). If you then select the active app (e.g.

entry under "Other Applications" after "Springboard", it works as expected
(switching to that app).

This isn't so much of a feature request as it is a method for implementing a
number of
feature requests I and a number of other users haves made. The general layout
of Kirikae
would stay the some but 3 additions/changes would be made.
First, a check box would be added beside each app in th Active tab of Kirikae.
When check
it would indicate the app is running, when unchecked it would indicate the app
isn't running.
This would be a simple way of starting and stopping apps.
Second, as an additional element of the check boxes, the Active tab would also
contain
recent apps. These apps would show up in the other apps field, below running
apps. When
an app is closed (unchecked) it would go below the running apps but, as it
would be the
most recently closed app, would be on top of the list of recent apps. This
list of recent apps
and running but not active apps would limit itself to 6 (or a figure defined by
the user) unless
there are more running apps then 6. EG. 1 active app. 4 running but not active
apps and 2
recent apps. OR 1 active app and 8 running but not active apps and 0 recent
apps. This
keeps the list manageable and gets around a problem I don't want to go into.
The third feature is a method of controlling whether an app backgrounds by
default or not.
This would involve the addition of a tab in the corner of each apps field when
running in the
Active tab. This tab would appear much like a folded page corner in a book.
The presence
of the tab on an app would indicate it will background by default. To change
this property a
user would swipe along an app, in the same way now used to reveal the app close
button.
This gesture would reveal an off on switch which would switch default
backgrounding on and
off.
I've uploaded a sketch of my thoughts to my flickr account and attached a link
(I'm on my
iPhone and can't upload to this post).

To the Official Developer(s), and anyone else who likes new ideas.
I love Kirikae. Its a great piece of software. Its a dream come true.
Accessing it and using it is a breeze... but what if it were even better?
Imagine going to access the Kirikae popup list (double tap/hold home).
Currently, 2 tabs at the bottom are "Active" and "Favorites".
Seriously, try to imagine these changes to the Kirikae interface.
What you currently see is 2 lists, "Active" and "Favorites". Lets just look
at Favorites. Put beside each icon an "On/Off" switch (default apple style)
to open or close the app. It can be done immediately, or it can be
configured to open the app "behind" the Kirikae list (great for IM/Mail
apps). This can make using Kirikae Lightning Fast, and twice as Intuitive.
You can keep the Active list for running Apps which are not in the
favorites list. Or you can remove the Active list, and these can just show
at the top, or even be alphabetized into favorites, or even make a separate
list, like a tab at the bottom (like currently with Active/Favorites).
There should also be another Tab at the bottom. This one shows the Most
Recently Opened Apps, most recent at the top. This could be very useful,
like when you need to reopen a recent app, or one you accidentally closed,
etc. Simple, easy to implement, big rewards.
I hope you who reads this has found something worthwhile in this post of
new ideas for Kirikae. I'm an idea guy, so if you wish to contact me about
these ideas further, contact me. Thanks, have a great day.

PS: Please consider making the Kirikae list have 2 columns of icons/words.
This will even more rapidly increase human efficiency.

Can implement another method to invocate Kirikae
like a swipe down from the status bar to the bottom!! Like mQuickDo
Can be awesome
i hope can implement that because tapping all the time maybe we can brake
the home button!

Is there a way through which SBSettings could be triggered to for example
adjust screen brightness when the Kirikae app switch menu is triggered
while still in an app? because I have noticed that when an app other than
Springboard is the current focused app, SBSettings can't be triggered to
drop-down, and so, in order to use the toggles, the app has to be minimized
and SpringBoard brought to current focus.
I'll also email Big Boss about this.
Thanks!!!!!

iPhone/iPod Touch model: 3GS
Firmware Version: 3.0
I can't enter the tastlist when i'm in an app. When i doubletap it just goes to
the springbord.
I've tried to doubletap faster, but it doesn't work anymore. Doubletapping from
springboard
does work.

Probably already being worked on.. a setting that chooses how to invoke
Kirikae switcher with the home button: double-press or hold.
I also have Music Controls installed and to invoke that one, I now have to
press the button four times in a row.
Also, two presses are more prone to errors than single press. Luckily, the
app won't close.
Backgrounder itself also has functions attached to it: enable/disable
backgrounding, but I wouldn't use that in combination with Kirikae anyway.
Of course, a merge with Backgrounder would be great but not per se
necessary I think.

Here is a great idea that you can implement very easily.
You currently have the "Control" method for bringing up Kirikae so you can
switch between tasks.
Now, you should make another Control method for closing apps which are
already backgrounded.
For instance: I am using a chat app, then I go into Kirikae to use another
app, which makes the chat app "backgrounded". Then later I come back to my
chat app, to make it Quit, there can be a method like "Double Tap Home" or
"Double Tap Power" or "Tap Home + wait 1 sec + Tap Home again".
The point of this is to make Quitting apps MUCH easier. Currently, one has
to open Kirikae, swipe the app, and then make it Quit. How about using the
buttons to make them Quit? This can be a fantastic feature!

There seems to be support for "HOME_SHORT_PRESS" as an invocation method in
the source.
Why is this not available? Does this not actually work? I don't have a
build environment up for the iPhone yet to test it out myself.

In the favorites feature, you can add categories icons, but as of the
current version of kirikae, it just loads normal categories, not categories
sb. It would only be natural to load the enhanced sb version and probably
trivial to add since you wrote both kirikae and categories sb. Thanks for
your consideration.

I'd love for this app to have the ability to be easily themed with
downloads from Cydia. I'm sure a number of people in the cydia community
would jump right into theming Kirikae if the infrastructure were in place.
Personally, I would love to see Kirikae show running applications as cards,
like the Palm Pre does. Each running application would be represented by a
screenshot taken when it was last the current application (hence, it
wouldn't be live but it would be more useful than an icon or name). The
current application could then have a thick outline around it to indicate
it being as such, other cards/apps wouldn't.
Favorites would be the only button along the bottom of the screen. I imagine it
looking and working like the Google Android Apps launcher. Once
pressed it would look very much like a typical iPhone home screen but
populated by your favorite apps.
Sliding up/flicking cards off the top of the screen to close running apps
would be cool but a long press would also work great. After a long press
the card could dim and a close/quit button would appear along with a cancel
button.
