S_Santosh

S_Santosh is a set of plugins and gizmos for the Foundry Nuke to aid in the process of digital compositing.

Plugins

List of current plugins can be found in python/init.py file.

• renderFinish - Rings a bell and shows a notification if rendern is finished.
• revealInFinder - Opens file location in explorer on certain nodes, including but not limited to Read, Write and Camera nodes.
• edgeNode - Jump to, or view first or last nodes in DAG.
• exrSplit - Splits multi-channel EXR files into separate channels using shuffle nodes.

There are some other plugins inside the S_Scriptlets menu. Like Read from Write.

Gizmos

Gizmos are inside left toolbar.

• S_Frequency_Sep - A frequency separation technique used in digital beautification.
• S_Trails - Trails the piped data.

ToolSets

ToolSets are nothing but a set of nodes, for specific workflow. Find them in left toolbar (two wrench icon).

Add About section

• Add about section with copyright info.
• Add info about other libraries used.

Create a 3d_Scene shortcut

Create a 3D_Scene node for quick demonstration.

Choosing this option will create boilerplate like in the image below.

Update Management

Create an update scripts to the toolset for users who already have installed it. Updating directly from Github. Needs some GitHub API knowledge.

Create an EXR splitter

A plugin which would lay out multiple passes into different shuffle nodes, from an EXR read node.

Lack of Documentation and Restructure

Documentation

Without documentation, no tool is useful. Documentation is the first level of support and holds data on how things behave and intended to behave. This applies to this project too.

People who are eager to write down the docs and manual about this project can head over project wiki. The wiki will contain the changelog, plugin behaviors et cetra. First, let the project restructure; head down ⬇️ .

Restructure

• The project, at present state, as of now is in bad shape. Personal customization and other scripts are mixed up.
• This other scripts consist of (which are related to each other) gizmos, menu items (should menu items be in a single place to disable/enable them easily?), node customizations.

Basically, the structure is not defined. Which should be done in order to write down the Docs (over wiki).

Make a frequency separation gizmo.
