Project we hacked during the day-long hackathon we attended at Brain Station 23 on March 2, 2024.

Tools & Technology stack we used

We used opentelemtry tools such as Jaeger tracing, grafana, loki etc. to trace and monitor api services. Our main goal was to create a scalable monitoring and tracing service that works perfectly with the backend services.

For the api services, we used python and fastAPI and MySQL database.

What we need to do

So, we need to create 2 API services that talks with each other. trace them individually with Jaeger and also trace their communication. Then setup Context Propagation via HTTP or RabitMQ from service one to service two. Instrument a DB liek Redis/MySQL/postgres/mongoDB etc. Setup a metric system liek Grafana and a data collection system like Prometheus etc.

About us

We're a team of professional software engineers. We didn't have any DevOps related experience prior to this hackathon. That's the main reason we participated. We wanted to learn new stuffs. And we actualy learnned these new tools and technologies because of this hackathon. Thanks to the whole organizing team, judges, Poridhi and Brain Station 23 for organizing such event.
