oxidized's Issues

[Suggestion] Copper Pulsar - durability

I would like it to have durability, because the point of this mod is to give more uses to copper, and in the game the copper pulsar has infinite durability, it feels somewhat buff and broken, it takes away the vanilla immersion.
In real life magnets demagnetize over time. I don't ask that they be demagnetized because it would be annoying, but I do ask that they simply break like a tool, and if the developer has the time and wants to improve it even more: that it can be enchanted like any vanilla tool.
It would be something more vanilla and balanced, I know that the copper pulsar doesn't change the gameplay that much, but if we think about it, it works like a rod to bringing items closer to you (and it also breaks). Personally, I would like to craft it from time to time or repair it with repair or unbreakability enchantments, since I always use it, and the experience would be more immersive.
In addition, copper and redstone really abound and it is what we players have the most surplus of and we have it stored in the chests without using it, and well, crafting is very cheap.

Parsing error: using non-existant block in recipe advancements

Copper rails instantly accelerate you to maximum speed

It seems like the copper rails don't apply an acceleration but rather sets the speed to maximum. I was wondering if the acceleration factor could work like normal powered rails? I'm would like to use these rails with high speed rail (sets maximum speed to 40blocks/second if on gravel) and these already work great. It would feel a tad less jarring if it didn't suddenly jump your speed from 0.1 bps to 40 bps from just touching the cart.

Thanks!

Loading problem

The forge version I am using is forge-38.0.15 ,but when I put Oxidized 1.5.0 in the mod folder , it doesn’t appear in the game when I open the game again.

copper rail render

I think you forgot to add the activated copper rail render when in diags:
activated
normal

[Feature Request] Re-balance copper rails

Looking at the Copper Rails recipe it seems incredibly over powered when you consider normal powered rails.
For example gold is a lot harder to find than copper yet the copper rails are technically better as you can power them up to 100 blocks instead of 8.

I'm wondering if it's possible to add in a debuff of some kind that makes it actually worth crafting ordinary powered rails again. For e.g. as the rails oxidise they get slower and need to be waxed to stop this happening.

Model is missing

[08:24:19] [Worker-Main-18/WARN]: Unable to load model: 'minecraft:copper_kiln' referenced from: oxidized:copper_kiln#facing=north,lit=true: java.io.FileNotFoundException: minecraft:models/copper_kiln.json

I assume the item ids for copper blocks changed in 1.18, current ids omit "_block".

Mining Lantern doesn't drop it

I'm using version 1.4 of the mod, in the Valhelsia Fabric 1.0.9 mod pack. When i try to mine the copper lantern with any pickaxe, it destroys the block instead of dropping it.

Invalid Player Data

Something in the latest update for Oxidized is now causing the game to throw Invalid Player Data errors whenever I try and join a world I had already joined at least once before.

The logs aren't particularly helpful, but I'll send it regardless. I only found out it was Oxidized by doing a binary search.

[bug] Parsing errors loading recipes

The game log contains errors about parsing errors of recipes, e.g.:

[Render thread/ERROR]: Parsing error loading recipe oxidized:copper_lantern
com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: Unknown item tag 'c:copper_nuggets'

latest.log

Also, I noticed that it has the folowing error message in it:
[Worker-Main-4/ERROR]: Couldn't load tag c:copper_nuggets as it is missing following references: techreborn:copper_nugget (from Oxidized),workings:copper_nugget (from Oxidized)

[Suggestion] Copper Pulsar - texture indicator when is activated

It causes me a lot of stress and headaches not to know when I have the copper pulsar activated, I have to open the chat history or activate it and deactivate it again, it is very annoying.
I use the copper pulsar a lot (and possibly many users of the mod too) and it wouldn't be bad if it had a different texture (in the inventory and in the hand) to know when it is activated (like when a crossbow has an arrow for example), it could be something as simple as the redstone tips glowing (or something more fancy and elaborate like an animation on the tips of waves that represent the electromagnetic field).

Recipes are not unlocked when items required for them are obtained.

The recipes for the blocks and items in this mod do not show up in the recipe book until after you craft them for the first time which makes it hard for players to know what to do without looking it up. If you don't know how to do this or you'd just like someone else to do it, I would be happy to help as I have experience with recipe advancements.

Vertical Cut copper blocks not oxidizing

Playing on Better Minecraft (FABRIC) for 1.18.2 v9

As stated in the title, I'm building a structure purely out of copper blocks, it's been several real life days and even more in minecraft days and the copper blocks from your mod specifically are not oxidizing even though all the other ones are. Submitted a picture to show that the other blocks are changing while yours are not.

Mismatching mod

The mod Oxidized Fabric 1.20.1, is installed in both, my server and my client, however the server doesn't allow us to log in, keeps sending the error that the mod is mismatching. Please help

Copper pan is too loud! [Suggestion]

I can hear the splashing from 16 blocks away, seems too loud and annoying especially if you have a lot of them. Request that the radius be lowered and/or add a config option to disable the sound.

Suggestion: More config options

I have a couple suggestions for addition config options that increase the modularity of the mod. I'd find a couple of these useful, hopefully others would too.

  • enable copper pan
  • enable copper pulsar
  • enable kiln
  • enable blocks

The Copper Button recipe conflicts with a vanilla Minecraft recipe.

Recipe: https://github.com/Safrodev/oxidized/blob/e0573328df86052c358d2546a0f8ef37dc676ab0/src/main/resources/data/oxidized/recipes/copper_button.json

Copper blocks (and all metal blocks) are already used as the sole ingredient in a shapeless crafting recipe in vanilla Minecraft - to convert them back into ingots.

In my own modpack I have resolved this conflict by changing the recipe to any one plank (by tag), and one copper ingot (as a shapeless recipe) - that matches the form used by mods like Quark (for their iron and gold buttons), so should be intuitive to people who have played modded Minecraft for a while. I figure that it makes sense to also make this change in the mod itself so that other players / pack developers don't have to make a similar change to avoid the conflict.

Suggestion - Charged copper and gunpowder

So i wanted to make a suggestion to add some mechanics to copper.

CHARGED COPPER BLOCK

When a lighnting strike hits a copper rod, if there is a copper block (of any kind) under it, it will 'charge' the block.

In my head the charged copper would be kind of white depending of the weathered effect and you could uncharge it by rightclicking with gunpowder gaining charged gunpowder. if you don't want it you could always get rid of it and since gunpowder is quite common, it won't be that much of a waste.

CHARGED GUNPOWDER

with that powder, you could

  • craft a bit more powerfull tnt (charged tnt) - crafted with tnt in the middle and charged gunpowder on N, S, E, and W
  • craft a charged gunpowder block - crafted with 9 charged gunpowder

you could also obtain that powder by killing charged creepers

CHARGED GUNPOWDER BLOCK

would be used to power the copper rails instead of using redstone. That way the 100 blocks would be balanced since it's a bit of work to make it. And i was thinking that maybe it could be used as a light source too

Log errors

Upon game startup, the multimc console output puts out a bunch of errors that I think are attributed to this mod. I am on fabric, 1.18.2, and the version of the mod is 1.6.3. Here's the relevant lines of the log
