PRIME (PRIvate MEssages) Server

This Project is a practical approach to exchange messages based on the idea of PIR (http://web.cs.ucla.edu/~rafail/PUBLIC/34.html). This repository contains the Server (Master/Slave) part of the project, the client part is available here.

It is a project which is done at the University of Basel by Sein Coray and Christian Frei.

Build

To build this project you need Qt. Just open the .pro file and build it if you are using the Qt Designer.

Qt Requirements:

apt-get install qtdeclarative5-dev qt5-qmake

On command line run qmake PRIME-Server.pro and then just make and the binary should be built.

prime-server's Issues

Request for messages should be a bit-vector

Requests to the server for messages should be done with a bit-vector instead of a list of IDs to reduce bandwidth.

The IDs should be sorted numerically and this would represent the order of the bits sent on the vector.

Optimize for large data packets

When there are commands sent with very large amount of data appended, the server communication fails because the receiver gets parts of the message before he can get the full message, then he just ignores the second part.

There should be a buffer for this case to hold the parts in ram until the whole message arrives.
