upgrading Camera to high definition

Hello, There is no issue with the current coding ,I have used your coding to run a standard Pi camera on the Pi 4 , However now I want to use a higher defination camera with Infrared, for night night monitoring, I install a ARDU 16mb mini camera, but its uses Libcamera to operate the camera, I installed all the nessary drivers for the Camera to work(which it does on test to take a snap shot) but wont work with your current coding. I understand it has something to do with the area of Picamera and Libcamera, but unsure how (if possibel) to modify the python script to use Libcamera. Any Guidance would be helpful to continue using your script. Kind Regards Martin (very basic knowledge of python) complete beginner.

I get this message when I try to run "pip3 install -r requirements.txt" command. Is there any way to fix this?

Installation requirements fail

When setting this up on a raspberry pi model 3B I encountered numerous problems.

The first was the instructions provided for making the ffmpeg library. I found more recent instructions which worked with only some adjustments.

The second issue is the pip3 installing of the requirements. Something about needing a local env setting up?

When I attempted to install via apt python3-xyz most of the packages were already on the latest version but picamera could not be found.

Camera module 3

This looks pretty interesting but I am using the module 3 camera, which requires the modern Picamera2 library. Any chance you can add Picamera2 as an option in your project?

Live streaming cannot be viewed on an iOS mobile browser

Try the address http://<local_pi_ip>:8000/index.html on iOS mobile browser both Chrome and Safari, only the play button on it, can not fetch the live streaming. But the link works fine on desktop browser.

legacy versions

Hi @Ruud14 ,

from past few days i am working on your Security camera project for a small kind of poc,I had few implementation issues.

1. What is the Legacy versions you implemented in this project?
2. I saw that you implemented the complete streaming on Pi . is there any other usecase that you tried on client-server architecture?
3. how to start and store the recordings. because when i add 'recorder._start_recording()' after detector.start() in main.py, it is showing error.
