Install

Ubuntu

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rubiojr/tahoe-lafs && sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tahoe-lafs-indicator

Changing the Tahoe-LAFS Web API URL

By default, the indicator checks http://localhost:3456, which is the default URL. There's no GUI to configure it yet so, if you need to change it, edit ~/.config/tahoetray/settings.yaml

icon does not work on black background

I have a black statusbar so the icon only show a red dot.

Maybe adding some white "shadow" around the back images would do the tricks.

Add node start/stop/restart commands

This could have acceptable limitations or extra work in order to make it possible, such an extra "tahoe-service-name" config parameter to make it possible to run "tahoe service $NAME start/stop/restart" exec calls if handled as a service.
Also, a "node home dir" parameter could enable exec'ing a "tahoe start/stop -d $NODE_DIR" command.

Add command-line parameter to specify node URL

This would also allow monitoring several nodes as it would not read from a single config file.
