rtl_biast's Issues

This builds and installs an old version of librtlsdr. Can we build it statically instead?

If you want to sudo make install this binary tool, it also installs an old version of librtlsdr in /var/local by default, which for some users would override any other installed version of librtlsdr. Is it possible to set this rtl_biast binary to be statically linked to its version of librtlsdr so that we don't need to replace the one installed on the system?

Windows 11 - Can't enable bias tee - usb_open error -12

Hi, found this issue and managed to work around it so hopefully can help some others:

Repro Steps:

  1. Windows 11
  2. Run CMD as Admin
  3. Change Directory to bt_driver folder
  4. bias_tee_on

Result:

Workaround:
You can update your RTL_SDR V3 to always have the bias tee enabled.

I did this on a raspberry pi, but might work via Windows.

  1. Instructions: https://github.com/rtlsdrblog/rtl-sdr-blog
  2. Following doing this, moved the SDR v3 back into my Windows 11 PC.
  3. SDR# could not find the device, so I used Zadiq to replace the drivers again. Then it worked.

Output to include rtl_biast

I'm using rtl_biast with a SatNOGS station.

Helpfully, the output from rtl_biast ends up in the satnogs-client.service journal, but is a bit obtuse unless you know what you're looking for:

$ ~/rtl_biast/build/src/rtl_biast -b 0
Found 1 device(s):
  0:  Realtek, RTL2838UHIDIR, SN: 00000001

Using device 0: Generic RTL2832U OEM
Found Rafael Micro R820T tuner

Could a line be added to include mention of the fact that rtl_biast is doing something?

Trouble compiling in macOS

Hey When I flow the instructions on the RTL-SDR Blog. I get the following errors at the make step. Any ideas?
Jeff

ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
make[2]: *** [src/librtlsdr.0.5git.dylib] Error 1
make[1]: *** [src/CMakeFiles/rtlsdr_shared.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

rtl_biast: symbol lookup error: rtl_biast: undefined symbol: rtlsdr_set_gpio

Getting this error on execution, with our without parameters:

pi@rpi-rtl-sdr:~/rtl_biast/build $ rtl_biast
Found 1 device(s):
  0:  Realtek, RTL2838UHIDIR, SN: 00000001

Using device 0: Generic RTL2832U OEM
Found Rafael Micro R820T tuner
rtl_biast: symbol lookup error: rtl_biast: undefined symbol: rtlsdr_set_gpio

undefined symbol: rtlsdr_set_bias_tee

I've compiled rtl_biast under raspbian stable.

$ rtl_biast -d 0 -b 1
Found Rafael Micro R820T tuner
rtl_biast: symbol lookup error: rtl_biast: undefined symbol: rtlsdr_set_bias_tee

Apparently rtl_biast is installing its librtlsdr.so in /usr/local, where the system doesn't look by default. This could be in the readme.
