commandr-android's Issues

Return to Previous App not working

I was hoping to use commandr to control brightness and volume when I'm running my SatNav app (Route 66 Navigate), and also hopefully to phone contacts. When I use OK Google, for example to phone a contact, it opens a page that doesn't disappear when it's finished, thereby covering up my navigation app; so I can only then get back to the app by touching the phone - I'm trying to go handsfree here! So I hoped that commandr, especially with its "return to previous app" setting would fix this.

It doesn't, in fact it makes things worse. If I only have my navigation app running and say "ok Google: volume 60" - it does change the volume BUT it then opens all the following screens, the first of which is in front of my navigation app:

A web page with search results for volume 60
A google app pages that says "Get Now cards"

The same happens with the command Screen Brightness x

I haven't enabled any Google Now cards, but can't find any way to completely disable Google Now - the only settings are via the google app or the google settings app. I haven't installed Google Now Launcher, just using the stock launcher that comes with my Samsung Galaxy S4 (with latest Lollipop OTA upgrade).

Allow stopping tts service

Provide a notification with a button to immediately end the tts service. Useful when there is a long list of messages...

Tasker Plugin

Create a Tasker plugin for users that need to do more complex things than just run one command

Option of what happens after command

Allow users to select to reopen google now (current behavior), go to home screen, or go to last open app (first reopen google now to clear state)

Voice commands not recognized on Android Wear

Seems to work flawlessly on my Nexus 5 but when I try to give voice commands through android wear (moto 360) it just does a google search for it? Going through the app and tapping the command works though.

Only first command works (until restart of Google Now)

Only first command I say works for me, if the 'Return to previous app' feature is not active. I have to either have the 'Return to previous app' active or kill the Google Now app via Tasker or something.

How to reproduce:
0. turn off the 'Return to previous app' feature

  1. 'Ok, Google' - recognizing active
  2. 'Next Song' - changes to next song
  3. 'Next Song' - does nothing
  4. kill Google now app
  5. 'Ok, Google'
  6. 'Next Song' - works again
  7. 'Next Song' - doesn't work

Runs but does not voice capture on android 5.1.1 LG Premiere LTE (LG LL62VL )

I miss being able to say "Photonic Generator ACTIVATE!!!" to turn on my flashlight.

Spotify Music Controls

Using the various media control functions does not seem to work with Spotify. I've tested on a Galaxy Nexus and a Nexus 5, both running the latest version of 4.4, both rooted.

Warnings when attempting to build

Hi, I forked the repo and attempted to compile the source code. I did no editing of the source or whatsoever. There is a warning when I tried to build.

Warning:Dependency org.apache.httpcomponents:httpclient:4.0.1 is ignored for googleDebug as it may be conflicting with the internal version provided by Android.
In case of problem, please repackage it with jarjar to change the class packages.

Able to set to Google engine, but not set it back to PocketSphinx

Hi!
Thanks for your amazing work!

I was able to set the engine to Google by clicking the pencil in the "Tasker Commands (Unavailable): With PocketSphinx Engine". By clicking it, a dialog shows up which has two buttons, and through one of them, I can easily set the engine to Google.

However, I tried setting it back to PocketSphinx, but I wasn't able to. I finished up having to clear app data...

Again, congrats for this nice job!

Return to Previous App in Google Now Launcher

Hi @RSenApps, amazing work on the app so far.
I was wondering - what is the technical challenge to get Return to Previous App working in Google Now Launcher? It's really the only thing I'm missing from the app right now, and can be quite annoying when using voice commands while driving (I need to reach back to the phone to switch the app).

Not working on Android 5.1

I'm having trouble running Android 5.1, Moto E.
Commands do not work.

I can only activate the commands through: Take note
