dctl's Issues

Found a good solution for the 4:3 crop problem and a clue of what may be causing it

Greetings, I while back I reported a problem in Davinci versions from 16 + that when applying the DCTL to a 4:3 format in a 16:9 timeline the resulting image got cropped in the original aspect ratio of the clip (whatever that may be), you solved the problem by scaling the appropiate value in the x or y axis and then inputing the same value in the "aspect" setting of your DCTL to compensate, which solved the issue.
Yesterday in Davinci 18 I found a simpler solution to the problem and maybe a clue of what may be causing this bug: in the color workspace creating an alpha output and connecting the final node to it (I think doesn't matter which node is connected as long as there's one).

Thanks again for your DCTL! Right now I'm using it in pair with stabilising freeware called Gyroflow, so I pre-stabilize video with Gyroflow without correcting the fisheye and then I use your DCTL in Davinci to correct the perspective, here's a little sample i did with a Gopro Max Lens (fisheye) on a gimbal with this method: https://youtu.be/jfnXYW98ebY

By the way is it possible to create a scale or zoom adjustment for the equirectangular function for using it as a normal video, I find useful the equirectangular projection perspective as it allows for a 180º + field of view in a rectangular format instead of the circular fisheye format which otherwise is the only other way of showing 180º+ field of view, the problem I always find is that if I zoom the equirectangular image the resolution doesn't scale, like for example a 4K 180º fisheye in equirectangular is a square only half as wide so when I try to zoom to fill a 16:9 aspect ratio video the resulting image resolution is like a 1920x1080, and for smaller field of view lenses the resolution gets worse.
I don't know, I find maybe you like this idea of maintaing resolution while zooming in a equirectangular projection, I tried to create a zoom slider writing the DCTL with a text editor but clearly I don't have any idea of what I'm doing.

Cheers!

last update doesn't work anymore!

I updated to latest version but it doesn't work. No red circle and adjustments don't react!
I then reverted to the previous version and everything again works fine!

Thank you for the good work.
Keep it up!

DCTL Bug in Davinci 16 and 17 versions. HELP!

Sorry if I've been repeating my self but Youtube comments doesn't seem to work and I don't know how to reach to you.

There's a problem with all DCTL in Davinci 16 and 17 versions with 4:3 ratio, after converting it stays in 4:3 crop (screenshot) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hDVEBXysD7zaTIykE05jAjLpGTixygLh/view?usp=sharing
With Davinci 15 works good, I'm using MacOS (OpenCL enabled), do you have the same problem? Can I do something to solve this?
I'd really appreciate to make it work, my Davinci 15 destroys any audio quality and makes impossible audio mixing for me, also Davinci 17 has more color tools and more advanced, including better noise reduction results.
Right now I'm exporting Prores from 15 to 17 version but my poor quality of the compressed 8-bit videos is being lost in the way.
This is a recent video example I've made of your Ptgui DCTL rendered with Davinci 15 (audio was created entirely separate with Logic): https://youtu.be/WuJv0gcKcQs
Looks awesome! Let me thank you with a LUT collection I've made public (completely legal): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1q_GLXKsYYDUckpdd10VzGsl67mWoBj2T?usp=sharing
Thank you
