ezgliding-python's Introduction
ezgliding.com release 0.x These are the release notes for the ezgliding.com software. You can find information on using and contributing to the application stack. WHAT IS EZGLIDING.COM? ezgliding.com is a website offering a set of web applications to help with analysing, visualising and planning glider flights. Initial features include aggregation of glider flights and simple visualization, more coming later. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License - see the accompanying COPYING file for more details. REQUIREMENTS: All you need to use the ezgliding.com web applications is a modern web browser. In the future it is possible that additional requirements are introduced, for example to access attached physical resources. DOCUMENTATION: All applications should be fairly self explanatory, if not they're accompanied by the appropriate online help. DEVELOPING: ezgliding.com relies mostly on appengine for its backend. 1) If not available, download the appengine sdk http://code.google.com/appengine/downloads.html 2) Launch the appengine dev server # <appengine sdk>/dev_appserver.py python 3) Check for a working admin console at: http://localhost:8080/_ah/admin

ezgliding-python's Issues
basic 2d map flight visualization
Tracking for the version first of the basic flight visualization.
Mostly to keep up with links to cool applications with fancy layers over google maps.
basic flight analysis
Tracking of the first version of the flight analysis tool.
It will only come after the storage, kml generation and visualization.
Still... we can start keeping track of nice links with relevant data here.
3d map visualization of flights
This would be a nice plus, but the current google maps API (v3) doesn't help much, as it's not compatible with the Earth view for some reason.
It should look something like what is here:
http://www.google.com/earth/explore/products/earthview.html
But given this ticket it might simply never happen:
http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=1480
There might be another way though.
multi flight analysis, stats, and other computations
This is a ticket for tracking ideas and links/tools that can help with doing a more generic analysis of multiple flights and their individual statistics.
It won't come immediately, but so that it's not forgotten.
