💪 About The Project

Gymn is a webapp made with the purpose of being used by any fitness enthusiast, ranging from a gym owner, that can manage his gym, until a gym rat, that can handle his workout routing seamlessly.

As the database schema is kinda complex, having lots of relations and internal postgres scripts, you should just use the app at https://gymn.vercel.app and avoid having mental issues 🤣

🏋️ Usage

Gymn's purpose is to be used as a:

• Workout tracking app
  • Users can create and track their workout routine, creating their own workouts.
  • They also can organize their favourite exercises.
• Gym management app
  • Gym owners accounts can create gyms and affiliate users
  • The gym affiliate users have access to specific workout routines planned by their personal.
• Gym social media
  • All of this can be shared via posts
  • You can have a profile and post your workout routine and inspire others to workout with you.

[Feature request] lifting programs with a full periodization support

Hi again!

Configuring programs whose workouts don’t neatly fit within a single week schedule can be quite tedious.
While programs like Starting Strength are straightforward enough to handle, others like GZCL follow an ABCD cyclic pattern of workouts.

Gymn could become more comprehensive by incorporating the ability to create periodized workouts. Instead of structuring workouts solely around weekly schedules, we could organize them across multiple weeks. These weeks could be grouped into specific training phases, perhaps named “Accumulation” or “Intensity.” During these various weeks, I would adjust either the intensity or volume of my training. Therefore, I need the capability to input not only a fixed load but also a percentage or an RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion).

The Liftosaur project, for instance, has done excellent work in this direction. We could draw inspiration from their approach.

[Feature request] online booking system for gym classes

Hi!

I discoreved this project and tried it. I like it, has potential!

I think that gymn may be more useful if is possibile to be able to create a schedule of gym classes with different parameters such as name, description, trainer, duration, capacity, etc trought a web interface to view the schedule and book a class by logging in with credentials.
The web interface should show the number of seats left for each class and prevent overbooking and the gym owner should receive a confirmation email with the details of the class after booking.
