musictoled's Introduction

MusicToLED

Syncing an analog LED strip to music using Arduino. Ft Fourier Transform.

I'm using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm to retrieve the sound frequencies and map them into the LED strip color and intensity. The final result is we get the LED strip to sync (/react) to music, resulting in beautiful colors that match the different pitches and volume of the music playing.

musictoled's Issues

MusicToLED

Thank you for the insight on your MusicToLED configuration and source code. My son and I have been struggling to get the arduino code to work correctly. The Red pegs out at a high number, while Green and Blue are in the noise realm and not even close. Been awhile since college and my fft classes. But, print statements and graphs reveal that the if then else loop on the sqrt (a , b) routine yields these widely separate numbers.

Thank you,
Richard
