please restore libsndio.so.7.0 compatibility symlink

Hello, looks like libsndio.so.7.1 is retro-compatible with libsndio.so.7.0, would it be possible to restore a compatibility symlink so we don't have to force rebuild of all the reverse-dependencies on top of the new version? Changing SONAME with no ABI changes is something we don't want to do in Debian and Ubuntu...

static library

There is no switch or option to enable static libraries, or disable shared for that matter
Would it be possible to add such an option?
Im sure I could hack together a patch for this, for myself, but I suppose having it upstream, would be benefitial to others aswell.

I was intending to build sndio statically linked, as with other stuff on my system, but to do that, I would need the static library.
