sensesp-windlass-controller's Issues

error?

havent as yet implemented hardware to check,
but looking at line 165… it seems to be incorrect?

if im reading correctly instaed of.
goUpPin
it should be
goingUpPin

look fwd to understand if my reading is correct?

update

hi, thx for updating the earlier error.
i have the program loading and running,
it is correctly reading/displaying the windlass speed - all good
(after i made some changes to the read period & corresponding moving average parameters)

also it is counting up (increasing) when i have the input pulses connected to respective chainCounterPin and chainSpeedPin
and it displays "freedown"

however i cant get it working with a "high" input applied to either the goingUpPin or goingDownPin.
(it continues to only count up and show "freedown")
eg it never ddisplays "off"

Is the main.cpp that you have on the repository the most updated you are using?
did you ever get it working correctly?
Note : im not using the external control via the windlassStatusListener...
im only inputting a pulse train ... and either alternately pulling goingUpPin or goingDownPin to high.

does this matter?

any insights appreciated

latest code

further to the latest pull request, ive made some small progress with non vol storeage ..
but havent as yet got a “idleCounter” working .

so didn’t want to confuse you with too many pull requests.

my programming skills are very rudimentary … hence im having to do a lot of reading and learning to progress…

my thinking is to have an idleCounter inside the lamda function that does the chainCounter increment/decrement,
and each time an increment/decrement happens, the idlecounter is reset to 60 (“seconds”)

then a separate function that counts the idlecounter down over a 60second period,
and when idlecounter =0 (aka after 60 sec period of no chain activity) it does the put of chaincounter into non vol.

im hoping your programming skills well beyong mine … and you can assist with above ..
