Adds Hive to the Emacs sql-mode product list.

Installation

Available on Marmalade.

Usage

Make sure that hive is in your PATH and run M-x sql-hive.

hive-el's Issues

No Documentation of Any Sort

Even a few bullet points would be nice.

Installed from a package, added (require 'hive) to .emacs and tried to get an inferior shell. 'Not a known product' error.

Update to most recent version of hive.el; same problem.

sql-comint-hive fails in emacs 26

The sql mode in emacs 26 seems to want to pass an extra argument to sql-comint-hive which leads to an error

Wrong number of arguments: #[(product options) "��Ã
	\")�" [options params product sql-comint] 3 ("/u/avorobi/.emacs.d/elpa/hive-20131217.1512/hive.elc" . 861)], 3

Changing sql-commit-hive to

(defun sql-comint-hive (product options &optional buf-name)
  "Create comint buffer and connect to Hive."
  (let ((params options))
    (sql-comint product params buf-name)))

fixes the issue.

Migrate to beeline

On starting sql=hive I get

Logging initialized using configuration in file:/etc/hive/conf.analytics-hadoop/hive-log4j.properties
WARNING: Hive CLI is deprecated and migration to Beeline is recommended.
