Asset extraction tool for Apex Legends and Titanfall 2

Originally created by DTZxPorter in 2019.

Installation

To install Legion+, you may choose to either download the latest pre-compiled release from the releases page, or compile the source code for yourself using the provided Visual Studio Solution file (.sln)

Compilation is currently only supported on Windows due to some platform-specific libraries that are required

Usage

Command Line Options

Modes

--export <path to .rpak or .mbnk>
Exports the specified rpak or Audio file according to your saved configuration, unless load flags are provided

--list <path to .rpak or .mbnk>
Produces a list of all exportable assets within the specified .rpak or .mbnk file

Export Load Flags

When any load flag is used, your saved configuration is ignored and only the specified flags are used When multiple load flags are used together, all specified types will be loaded

Example: LegionPlus.exe --export <path to rpak> --loadmodels --loadanimations --mdlfmt obj --animfmt seanim --imgfmt png

Other Flags

--overwrite - Enables file overwriting for replacing existing versions of exported assets
--nologfile - Disables log files being created
--prioritylvl - Sets Priority Level by using: <realtime, high, above_normal, normal, below_normal, idle>
--fullpath - Enables full path naming for the list export
--audiolanguagefolder - Enables Audio Language Folder
--usetxtrguids - Enables the renaming of Guid names for Textures (e.g. adding _albedoTexture, etc.)
--skinexport - Enables exporting of all skins for available models

Controls

Asset List

Keyboard
P - open preview window for currently selected asset
E - extract currently selected assets

Mouse
Right Click - copies the names of the currently selected assets to clipboard

Preview

Alt + Left Click - move mouse to pivot camera around target
Alt + Right Click - move mouse to zoom in and out of the target
Alt + Middle Click - move mouse to pan camera

Crash when exporting

Legion+ crashes when exporting the material mirage_lgnd_v23_voidknights_gear

Loaded files: common*.rpak OR root_lgnd_skins.rpak OR root_lgnd_skins_Mirage*.rpak

I sincerely need your help

Your tool for extracting audio files from this game is very useful, but I also need a tool to convert files in WAV suffix format to MBNK suffix format files for which I can provide you with financial support. Looking forward to hearing from you

Apex Legion Problem with load files

There is a problem with finding the legendary/epic skins of apex legends that I don't know how to solve, it's as if it loaded fewer files than it should, if anyone knows how to solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated

Exported UI images don't match width and height

When extracting the map from Apex Legends, then the info column in the Legion+ application is showing "Width: 4096 Height 4096" but after the export the file size is 4256x4256 and the bottom and right sides have weird artefacts. I've tried with all different image formats but always got the same wrong file size. Tested with version 1.3.4.

How to reproduce:

  1. Only enable the "Load UI Images" in Legion+ settings
  2. Load a map file. For example "Apex\paks\Win64\mp_rr_tropic_island_mu1.rpak"
  3. Export the uiimage entry
  4. Take a look at the details (size values) of the exported image

Lods Support

ะกan you add export for lods? I know it may seem like something useless for many people who use this for renderer and stuff. But it would be very useful for modders like me. Plus personally, I would like to study Respawn's lods technique.

(I apologize in advance, I didn't really understand if this is the right place for such requests)

Regkey support fix

We still need to get Regkey support fixed, so people don't need mileswin64.dll and binkawin64.dll in the same folder as Legion+

SMD animation support

It would save so much time if you could export animations in SMD file format.

A huge reason for this is that SMD files can be imported to C4D. Using normal formats like FBX from Blender or Maya will break animations in C4D.

Crash when exporting certain atlases, and some images are not exported correctly (Titanfall 2)

I'm having this be one issue instead of two because I believe the second one is the root cause of the first.

In ui(11).rpak, "menu" (alongside some other images) does not get exported properly. When exporting to png, the result is just a grey/black blank image. Whereas when exporting to dds, I get an error when importing the file into gimp.

Legionplus also crashes when attempting to export the corresponding atlases to the images that do not export properly

Extraction Issue

After downloading version 1.3.9. after extracting im left with version 1.3.8 which keeps crashing when trying to preview files etc

Export with original paths.

The ability to view the full path of an asset is there, but upon export it just throws the asset in it's respective folder with the asset's name.

It would be nice to have things export to where they were originally located.
(I.e. for Titanfall 2, stasis_trim_01[mat] would export to materials/world/stasis/stasis_trim_01)

Incorrectly extracted texture data

Some textures are extracted incorrectly and they include unrelated or lower mip data.

Legion appears to crash when converting specific TF|2 .mdl files to .semodel or .cast

Legion version 1.3.6

Northstar is installed if that matters?

When I drag and drop a .mdl file into the legion window, legion creates the exported_files folder and the correct folders inside it, but closes without exporting anything. Weirdly, this only happens with certain .mdl files. Some behave as expected. Might have something to do with animations or bones? The .log files are empty.

Failed with: pilot_medium_reaper_f, pilot_light_ged_f, pilot_light_ged_m, r2_prowler
Bizarrely, succeeded with: pelican_case_large_open, terminal_usable_imc_01, core_energy

Can't export some Material

I want to export Car Weapon Skin.
But I can't export some Materials, full path:

  1. art/mshop/weapons/class/smg/car/legendary/v21_steel/skins/rt01/car_lgnd_v21_steel_rt01_main_colpass
  2. art/mshop/weapons/class/smg/car/legendary/v21_steel/skins/rt01/car_lgnd_v21_steel_rt01_main

I use any function to export it, but I can't found where are those files.
Maybe Tools just can't export it?

"broken" audio exporting on Titanfall 2 files (plus general UI critique)

legit Titanfall 2 owner here.

anyhow, for some reason i decided to try out LegionPlus just to see if it worked with the Titanfall 2 files i have on my main disk drive. rpak files export well. but mbnk files are a whole different story.

some exported sounds, particularly those that doesn't have more than a single mono channel, come out as if they were all passed through some sort of DSP filter that for whatever reason made these sounds unlistenable instead of how they actually sound in-game.

examples of this happening in action are demo_intro_audio, music_beacon_15a_firstdropshipattack_ambient and beacon_amb_ext_skyplatforms_6ch_v1_01_lp, just to name a few. i can't really describe it well here so if request i can provide an exported "sample" file of sorts.

on another note, it would be nice if the UI provided more info on the individual sound assets i'm about to deal with beyond just printing language this, sample rate that, channels this, and nothing else. more specifically, i would like to sort all sound assets by how many minutes and seconds do they last in themselves (sound duration, if you will), how many channels do they have, etc. sort them all by descending and/or ascending order if possible.

Thunderdome map not able to being exported

Describe your problem / bug: Legion+ crashes after exporting 4 images when trying to export the new map called Thunderdome

What file did you load: "common_mp.rpak" "mp_lobby.rpak" "mp_rr_thunderdome.rpak" "common.rpak" "common_early.rpak" (i also tried to load all map files and all common files with same result)

error when exporting french audio

Running legion plus on a windows 10 qemu vm. I'm trying to extract all of northstars french voice lines. Legion+ is throwing an error with most all of the files.

I'm going to have a friend on native windows try and see but opening an issue for now. Nothing in the log file, only export success messages.

Crashing when trying to export Gaiden event skins

[Apex Legends]. Legion+ App repeatedly crashes when trying to export legend models for the current Gaiden event. Export does not happen and CPU usage skyrockets. Never had this issue and my CPU is an 11th gen i7.

[Titanfall 2 DDS] Allow exporting in sRGB

Images (e.g. PNG) are darker when exported, this is because DDS images use the sRGB standard.

Tacentview, for example, has an option to change DDS to sRGB, which produces correctly bright images when exported to other formats.

rpak file - dds texture

Good.
I need help with the fontAtlas.dds texture.
Located in the file ui(08).rpak, ui(09).rpak.
Is it possible to somehow decompress these rpak files?
I need to revert the modified dds texture to the rpak file.

Previewing some legendary character models causes a crash

For Apex Legends game files, specifically root_lgnd_skins.rpak. When I press "P" to preview a character model the app often crashes. This occurs for pilot and non pilot models.

The problem seems to come from specific models.

There is no problem with exporting these characters.

Switching to version 1.6.1 improves the issue, but it still occurs occasionally.

Legion+ was crashing when trying to import files. I had been using the previous version of it and was running into this issue. I thought it must have been due to an out dated version so I uninstalled it and installed the latest version of it and am still running into the same issue. If there is any fix please let me know.

[Titanfall 2] Incorrect and missing MilesLanguageIDs

Some language indexes are missing: Latin America Spanish and Portuguese. And all indexes after Polish language are incorrect.

I have region locked copy from Origin, which has only Polish and Russian localizations. Legion+ doesn't load russian language banks, because those banks return Mandarin ID according to program. I've modified code a bit to log what LocalizeIndex banks return.

No vertex color on map cast file

The map geometry does have vertex color attribute in Blender, but no actual data besides Legion+ default RGBA 255, 255, 255, 255

Char models export without textures/maps

For exmaple I want to export "pilot_light_wraith_cyber_ninja".

For some reason at the end of every single model there's a "_loading" thingy at the end.
In preview model has no textures as well as after export.

In every tutorial that I saw there was no such issue.
