So the original split-detection-logic (io.quarkus.arc.deployment.SplitPackageProcessor
) was introduced to detect problems related to CDI beans. And that's why only indexed archives are considered. It's also documented in the javadoc. In other words, it's works as designed. Moreover, I don't think there's an easy way to detect split packages accross unindexed archives.

@mkouba if you won't consider expanding the scope of the check, another thought would be to allow use to consider the providers directory as having a lower precedence so that it won't conflict with lib dependencies. Would that be possible?
