Python Open Project - battleship

This is a project powered by Codecademy students.

Project 1: Battleship

For this project we'll be using the pygame framework wich is basically a module made for making python games for windows/mac/linux/etc.

If you're not related to the pygame framework, here are some tutorials:

battleship's Issues

Help screen

Creating text for help screen with instructions on how to play the game.

Branches give me headaches

Can we delete the 'side' branch?, It gives me a lot of trouble updating and mergeing it since I'm a noob with Github and I ain't used to work with branches. I prefer working locally and then upload the finished work to the master branch, then if something goes really wrong, we can just roll back that commit, or fix it, does it makes sense?

X and Y axis markers

On the left and bottom edges of the board, insert number counters to show how many ship pieces exist in each row and column. Gives the game a more puzzle-like feel.

User Interfase

I made a quick sketch, it represents what I think would be a nice UI, we don't have to focus on it right now, but It can't be bad to think about what the user will see.

la foto 1

The title 'USER FLOAT' can change if the user changes the "switch" above the "NEW GAME" button, when that switch is switched It may display our own board (the board that the enemy is shooting).

On top of the "radar", that is, the green boxes, there are three counters, Shots taken, Hits, and Enemies, that may display how many ships we still have to sink.

I gave the HELP and NEW GAME buttons a round, kind of emergency button feel,
and I imagine the "radar" with a radar feel to it, like a green screen, and the same
goes for the Shots Hits and Enemies boxes.

That's it, they're just ideas, so we can start from somewhere with the UI.

Shot counter

Create a counter to track how many shots were taken.
