This project is very similar to Harp.

One thing I really like about harp is the ability to do harp server ./mysite and it instantly runs a server in the mysite directory, then automatically compiles your pages at load time (with cache).

There is also harp build ./mysite which seems to do what Habit does by default.

A local server is useful for when absolute URL paths are used (ex: /images/logo.svg, noting the initial /). Just viewing the static site in a browser would display the images as broken.

I am working around this in habit by using http-server, a super simple static server CLI utility for node

$ habit
$ http-server ./_site

I'm not sure what conditions are causing this to happen. I'm sure I'll figure it out soon but making this issue to keep a record of it.
