Description:

Takes the current storm data from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and plots all the 5 day forecast cones onto the 7 day forecast graphics

Dependencies

Written against Python 3.6

From requirements.txt:

chardet==3.0.4
idna==2.10
lxml==4.5.2
Pillow==7.2.0
pytz==2020.1
requests==2.24.0
urllib3==1.25.10

Running it

• Set up a Python virtual environment :

python3.6 -m venv env

• Activate the virtual environment:

source ./env/bin/activate

• Install requirements:

pip3.6 install -r requirements.txt

• Run it:

python3.6 main.py

nhc-cones's Issues

Cones for far western Pacific Ocean fail to render properly

The coordinates are 199, instead of -161. I'm pretty sure the code expects it to change over at 180.
