We had a meeting today to discuss about this very same issue.
Final outcome:
- Decentralize db-migrations into each service so that now each service owns its set of db migrations.
- Goose can be setup to interact at a service code level and can be used to operate at each schema level as well. Refer to this: #205
- Run this approach on an individual service in local and see how well this approach pans out.
Got to know that is typically how microservice should be designed. 🤦
Anyways, I will be running a POC to see how feasible it is to integrate this approach into our systems.
