almost-monokai's Introduction

Aha! Nice name!

Almost Monokai is a beautiful, fruity, calm, yet dark color theme for Emacs.
It is based on the Monokai TextMate theme by Wimer Hazenberg.

How do I try it out?

  1. Copy the color-theme-almost-monokai.el file to your emacs plugin directory (if you have one), or simply drop it somewhere you know.
  2. Lets say you place it in ~/foo
  3. Next, open your .emacs file, and add to it:
(load-file "~/foo/color-theme-almost-monokai.el")
(color-theme-almost-monokai)

What do I need?

almost-monokai's Issues

Rendering as bright green, for some reason

Hey, thanks heaps for creating this theme!

I know it was written a long time ago, but I wonder if you can help me. I'm using OS X Lion, with Emacs 22.1.1 and have your theme loaded. But for some reason, instead of the nice dark charcoal background, the whole thing glows bright green:

Almost Monokai

I've tried setting my TERM environment variable to both xterm-256color and screen-256color, but both produce the same green background (slightly different shades, but green nonetheless).

Can you think why that might be? The theme certainly specifies dark grey, from reading it.

Other themes work fine. Here's Arjen:

Thanks,

Support for v24

Please update this theme for Emacs 24. There are other monokai themes for Emacs, but this one is the best!
