I think about this kind of API: css.compute("div.shy") #=> { color: 'lavenderblush', background: 'linen' }.

I like this idea, but I didn’t give any promises about implementation ;).

Yes, that makes sense to add a compute method as opposed to applying the inherited properties directly to the data. Since A) changing any property would require everything to be recomputed and B) a method would allow you to specify a media constraint: css.compute("div.shy", "screen, (min-width: 320px)")

...or css.compute({ selector: "div.shy", min-width: "320px" }) <- I would prefer :)

Maybe there some library for it. So we can use it and only add some nice syntax sugar to PostCSS :).
