simplecomputerremote's Issues

The keyboard doesn't work properly.

Hello,

thanks for the good work. But there is still a problem with the keyboard. The backspace key doesn't work at all.

Thanks again and have a nice day.

Android app not found

when i click on the link for Android app Google play store says 'item not found' Help please

Arrow keys and volume keys are not working

Hi
I have a phone with physical QWERTY keyboard, and there are two features missing in this program that I need:
1- Handling arrow keys (up, down, left, right)
2- Handling volume up and down keys
Which both are essential for using in XBMC (with Raspberry Pi)

I started debugging the host Go code, and I realized the keyboard event for arrow keys are being sent, but it's empty and unrecognizable.
In file server/keyboard.go, function processKeyboard(), message.GetString() is empty string, and I tried printing out other attributes of message object (defined in scratch/messages.go), but I couldn't find any attribute that makes it different for arrow keys.

And almost the same happens in processKeyboard for volume keys, but this time, err variable (from GetString) is EOF

Unfortunately I have no experience with Android programming (I don't know how to compile Android code yet)

Authentication required to prevent malicious remote control?

Steps to reproduce:

  • Install and run Simple Computer Remote on my desktop machine
  • Malicious user installs SCR on their Android device
  • Malicious user scans our mutual network, where my desktop is visible as a potential connection
  • Malicious user attempts to connects to my desktop and control it

What should happen:

  • Malicious user should not be able to connect to my desktop
  • (Also?) Malicious user should not be able to see my desktop

What happens instead:

  • Malicious user can find, access and control my desktop

If I have missed the configuration steps required for a secure connection, please point me to the relevant link.

xbmc: mouse not working

Numeric keypad

Hello,

I have installed this application today and I have found it very useful and easy to use and install. I have tested it on my linux laptop, and it was a surprise for me that it is open source and works under Linux and indeed under Raspberry pi - which I find really useful.
I think a simple enhancement the application could have is the option of showing a numeric keypad, similar to the traditional numeric keypads - with the ".", "+", "-", "NumLock" and other buttons. If this feature is released this application will be unique, because there is no numeric-keypad-application which works under linux - at least I have not found it.

Thank you very much for this simple and useful app.
