System is in HandleMove, where it reaches the switch statement action for TM_COUNTER, which is pGapGame.Rotate(-1). Inside the Rotate method, this causes the new orientation to become negative, because of this statement:
pGame.FallingBlock.Orientation =
(pGame.FallingBlock.Orientation + direction) % NUM_ORIENTATIONS(see sample code in Go Playground).
This in turn causes the following statement in Fits to fail:
location := Tetrominos[block.BlockType][block.Orientation][i]because it is trying to access the array with a negative index.
