orly-book's Introduction

Orly::Book

Uses orly-appstore.herokuapp.com to create fake O'Reilly-style book covers.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'orly-book'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install orly-book

Usage

Use like this:

require 'orly/book'

Orly::Book.new("ritap", :title => "Rails In Theory And Practice", :top_text => "Good Enough", :author => "Aliester Curley", :theme => 10, :animal => 33)

The first (string) param will be the filename.

This will write the binary file that the orly-appstore.herokuapp.com creates to your current directory as "ritap.png".

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake test to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

Caveat: I didn't write any tests. Sorry.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
