Yep definitely in plan to add this feature Gil. Not only for longer numbers (thanks for the PEP id - I wasn't aware) but for date format which is quite popular too. If anyone fancies suggesting code for this to spread the workload I'd welcome a Pull Request!

As a temporary workaround, you can now manually override the version number in the "single window" design.

Version 2.0.0 is fully PEP440 compliant now... using pep440-version-utils.
