pacmanager's Issues

powerline on remote server breaks ssh autologin

I am using powerline shell on my Ubuntu 14.04 server at home. When I try to remote in from work using PAC manager it just sits there (it finished logging in but wont accept input) with a status at the bottom saying: "PASSWORD: Sent". It just sits there until it times out. Seems like PAC is having troubles noticing that login was successful?

I tried playing with some of the regex but couldn't get any of it to work. If I do the manual login it works just fine, but I would like to continue using the autologin feature.

The powerline I am using is: https://github.com/powerline/powerline
PAC version: v4.5.5

Local Shell not Loading

PAC initially loads just fine. When I try to open a local shell, it never loads/refreshes, no errors ever seem to show no matter how long I leave it to load.
I had previously encountered this issue, but was resolved by removing and reinstalling PAC.

Now, the issue persists after purging and reinstalling the latest version of PAC.

Seamless RDP -A parameter -> Patch

Hi in options of rdesktop connection there is checkbox "Enable Seamless RDP" which add -A parameter to connection but -A parameter need patch to seamlessrdpshell.exe but gui dont provide place to enter that patch which causes error in conection.

Pls fix that.

Debian stretch/sid: pac - Perl_xs_apiversion_bootcheck [Solved]

As the issue #264 in sourceforge (but it's impossible to reply), I open this "github" issue with the solving!
SourceForge:
#264 cannot start pac - Perl_xs_apiversion_bootcheck

sourceforge.net/p/pacmanager/bugs/264/

The bug: When lunching pac, you got this error:

/usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /opt/pac/lib/ex/vte64/auto/Gnome2/Vte/Vte.so: undefined symbol: Perl_xs_apiversion_bootcheck

I solve this problem by changing the Vte.so symbolic link to use Vte.so_64_5.022 instead of Vte.so_64_5.020

cd /opt/pac/lib/ex/vte64/auto/Gnome2/Vte
sudo rm Vte.so
sudo ln -s /opt/pac/lib/ex/vte64/auto/Gnome2/Vte/Vte.so_64_5.022 Vte.so

Enjoy, Félix.

pac internal variable <USER>

Hi,

I try to use the pac internal variable <USER> in local commands and it returns the ip instead of the user.

On Fedora25 got "Can't locate object method "new" via package "Gnome2::Vte::Terminal"

Hi, I was just upgrade my Fedora 24 to 25.
when I start connection, It shows me a message.

PAC started (pac) with PID 8466

I was run "find /opt/pac/ -name "Vte.so*" -exec rm {} +" but is was not effecient.
Does anybody help me out to solve this problem???

Feature Request: ssh login support using only a user name

With the current server options, when I select "manual", it tries to connect using my local username.
I would like to select manual, to allow ssh-agent to take care of things, and still specify the user to use when logging in.

p.s. I would be happy to donate or something to see this feature added. I use your software more than enough. thanks for all the hard work!

Couldn't register with accessibility bus:

Since today I'm getting this message, just before the actual ssh-login into machines.

"WARNING **: Couldn't register with accessibility bus: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. at /usr/lib/perl5/Gtk2.pm line 138"

Since the login works after this message - it's obiously not a "broken network connection".
I'm getting this on various (Debian, Ubuntu, Centos) machines. I was running PAC 4.5.5.4 when I first encountered this message, so I upgraded to PAC 4.5.5.5, but no change.

ciao

macOS port

Any chance of porting pacmanager to macOS?

Keepalive?

Is there a way to keep connections alive? My SSH connections die after some number of minutes if there's no output in the terminal.

Windows Port

No idea how feasible (or not). Just I have to use Windows day-to-day. Would be handy!

Delete colors from logs

In Linux shells (bash is tested) colors are correctly displayed, but when it pass to logs, the colors commands are passed in clear text:

[m]0;root@inf01:~[1;91m[Server01: root@server01 ~]#(B[m ll

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 ago 26 2015 [01;34mbhca[0m

This causes that logs are really hard to read and there is no option to not save colors.

Support setting title

It'd be nice if you could add support for setting the title of the tab, using for example (in bash):
export PS1='\[\e]0;My Title\a\]\u@\h:\w\$ '

I think it should set the title to "ConnectionName: My Title"

[snap package] PAC crashes when retabbing open windows

Hi!
Thanks for the great app! Here is the issue:
When I open pac, select and run my test cluster from "Clusters" tab, and then I run PCC > Explode, the tabs separate into windows normally. However, when I select ReTab program crashes.

I am using Ubuntu 16.04 and pac snap package 4.5.5.8-snap1. I also noticed there is no app indicator available.

Make it less distro-married

Starting with readme, where installation instructions goes directly to instructs user to use get-deb. The rpm package in the official website crash on fedora. I think this applications is awesome, but it's really hard to install in distros not ubuntu-based.

Allow creating local bookmarks

I'd like to be able to save local connections, with the commands to execute in that shell. For example, I want to open a shell that will cd to a particular dir.

Make it much easier to reconnect a session

Given that there's no keepalive mechanism (#33), when a session inevitably freezes, it's a pain to reconnect it. You need to right click, hunt for the menus for "Session" (which should be the first in this context menu, instead of "Connection", which refers not to this session), and realize it's the last. From Session, you need to pick "Disconnect and Restart", which again is somewhere in the middle of the list, and doesn't have a shortcut.

Proposed solution: have "Reconnect" as the first context menu item.

Mejora con soporte SFTP

Buenas, sería possible añadir soporte para sftp, al estilo de MobaXterm para windows?
en el panel lateral de las conexiones una nueva pestaña tal vez.

Window focus issues with Mint 17

PAC has a problem on Linux Mint 17 where opening a connection results in the window staying on top. Minimizing, resizing, or unmaximizing fixes it until you open a new connection. I tracked the problem down to this line in PACMain _showConnectionsList:

$$self{_GUI}{main} -> present_with_time( time );

Changing it to use present() or present_with_time(0) or even present_with_time(time % 1000) fixed the issue. This must be a bug in Mint's gtk libraries or some other weird issue.

PacManager To Centos7

Hi David,
To work a portability to Centos7 ?
When I install the ".rpm" I have this error

Split window support more than 2 windows on high resolution displays

Hi,

use this shinning piece of software for few years already, very good stuff first of all!

while working on big 4k screens (40"-50") I realized it could be useful to have window Split function capable of working with more than 2 windows at time and also mixing the vertical with horizontal split. So the result could be variants of matrices. Either we could go with default 4 window split (2 horizontal for 2 vertical ), or lets make it generic and configurable somewhere in global settings, so I can for example open predefined cluster in 3 horizontal with 4 vertical in total 12 windows, based on my screen config.

What do you think?

Expect.pm error when using multiline cluster command

On fedora 25, pacmanager 4.5.5.7-5
When using any option (All, Block or Selection) of the multi-Line text entry in cluster mode, I get the following lines in my shells :

Use of uninitialized value in string eq at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Expect.pm line 1086.
Use of uninitialized value in string eq at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Expect.pm line 1093.
Use of uninitialized value in regexp compilation at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Expect.pm line 763.

It seems to be the simillar errors as reported here : https://sourceforge.net/p/pacmanager/bugs/272/

Main window resizing on connection opening

Seems to happen with either a freerdp or simple ssh connection, when trying to connect the main PAC window resizes itself to the entire screen, I've tried to find mention of this in the settings but have come up with nothing. Is this an issue or just some configuration that I am missing?

Thanks

Ubuntu 16.04 PAC 4.5.5.7 XFreeRDP slow graphical rendering ...

Hi,
Using PAC into Ubuntu 16.06 x64 on my existing Ms. Windows (7, 2008 , 2012 etc.) servers connections using XFreeRDP all works very very slow and CPU go UP with +(30-40)% (Intel i5).
Graphical card is OK, well verified and tested.
Using xfreerdp from command line works perfect without any lags or additional CPU usage.

Thank you in advance.

Split Horizontally / Vertically mismatch

Hi

Split tab horizontally and vertically do the opossite. Wen you click "Vertically with TAB" it splits the screen HORIZONTALLY and qhen yoy click "Horizontally with TAB" it splits the screen VERTICALLY.

It should be:

Error: The program 'pac' received an X Window System error.

I have a weird issue, pacmanager crashes when another window is closed. I can reproduce the issue always if I connect a session with Myrdp (another software similar to pacmanager that execute a xfreerdp, very likely to pacmanager) and then close the program. Myrdp uses /parent-window option (I don't know if this is important).

But also sometimes PAC crashes when I send an email with Thunderbird (and message window is closed) or when my computer is in stand-by with lock screen.

The output:

The program 'pac' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 32961 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
