Create folder with Selection for Nemo

Usage

Select all the items you want to move, then right click and select "Create Folder with Selection", and select a name for the folder you want to create. If you are not the owner of the directory where the selected items are there is a prompt for the root password input

Installation

Download the zip file and move new_folder_with_selection.nemo_action, askpass.sh and new_folder_with_selection.sh to ~/.local/share/nemo/actions (for user install) or /usr/share/nemo/actions (for system install). Make sure to mark both .sh files as executable.

nemo_create_new_folder_with_selection's Issues

New feature?

Hi Pedro, I don't know if you're still working on this practical extension, but just in case I'll tell you about an option that for many of us who come from using nautilus and work with long series of files is very useful. When you select several files and carry out the action of copying them to a new folder, your default extension leaves the name of the new folder empty, however nautilus puts the title of the new folder with the letters that are common for all the selected files. This may seem like it doesn't make much sense, it is very useful when you are working with photos that have already been renamed with a common nomenclature, so you don't have to write the name of the folder. Is it an option that you would find interesting to integrate?
Greetings and thanks for developing such a necessary extension

Create new folder with selected files

Thank you!

Dear Pedro,

I could not find you on the web anywhere, so decided to create an issue here :)

Just to say thank you so much for this little action of yours.

I have been a Mac user for the past 20 years and have recently switched to Mint. (about a year)

And this is one feature of osx that i sorely missed on Mint, until I found this today.

Thank you so, so, so much! :)
