angular-slugify's Introduction

angular-slugify

Provides “slugification” for AngularJS in the form of a service, filter, and a directive.

What is a slug?

A slug is that final portion of a URL which is derived from some other piece of information, usually the title of a page.

For example, “Man Bites Dog” might produce the slug man-bites-dog for the URL:

http://example.com/2013/04/man-bites-dog.html

Usage

Include angular-slugify.js in your HTML document somewhere after you have set up AngularJS.

<script src="angular-slugify.js">

Make slugifier a dependency in your AngularJS app.

angular.module("myApp", ["slugifier"]);

Service

The Slug service provides a single function slugify that takes a string input as argument and returns the slugified string.

function MyCtrl($scope, Slug) {
    $scope.slugify = function(input) {
        $scope.mySlug = Slug.slugify(input);
    };
}

Filter

The slugify filter slugifies any text passed to it in an AngularJS curly-brace expression.

<input type="text" ng-model="title">
<p>Slug: {{title | slugify}}</p>

Directive

The slug directive is a way to declaratively say one model is the slugification of another.

<slug from="post.title" to="post.slug">My slug is {{post.slug}}</slug>
<p>It also works out here: {{post.slug}}</p>

The from attribute is the name of the model in the current scope you want to slugify. The to attribute is the name of the model you want to be automatically updated with the slugification whenever from changes.

angular-slugify's Issues

Plus or + or ''

Anyway to allow a +

To the best of my memory it's a valid url character.

Consider adding a package.json

I'm currently using napa to install angular-slugify, but I would love to be able to avoid this step and to directly use NPM.

Can you consider to add a package.json and publish the package to NPM?

This would be much more convenient for us (non-Bower users).

Thanks!

Release anytime soon?

Looks like there have been some minor (but important) updates to this repo, but no releases. Would love to see a release that includes the bump in Angular version support!

Prevent numbers in front

Currently on 1.32.4.5-demo produce 13245-demo.

Do you think you should provide version which strip non word characters.

For this example 1.32.4.5-demo should produce demo

Update angular dependency

Hi!

Would that be possible to update bower.json?
It needs angular 1.0.7 whereas the latest stable is 1.2.9.

_It could also be a good idea not to reference a specific version but something like 1.2._or1._or even_.*

Thanks!

Add a minified version

It would be nice to have a minified version that automatically downloads with bower install.

Add minified version

No CDN hosts angular-slugify and I can't find minfied version of angular-slugify anywhere. I could minify it myself using uglifyjs, but it would be more convenient to simply download it from GitHub repo.

Accent problem

Hi, great plugin, but it strips characters with accents, ie: Córdoba to crdoba. It should convert it to cordoba
