portfolio's Issues

peer evaluation #2

Creativeness Bland, boring Fairly generic, but the colours are nice Good, works very well and is unique enough Wow! I never would have thought that would work so well!
Effectiveness I don’t know what this is trying to do The message isn’t completely clear and it’s difficult to use It’s obvious and simple to use The project is super effective and easy to use
Quality Non-existent Acceptable quality, more work could be done Good quality, up to the expectations of the teacher Stunning quality, this person rocks!
Effort Zero effort, incomplete Decent amount of effort Goodly amount of effort that shows Amazing, over-the-top amount of effort
Code quality Barely started Indentation is barely existent, lots of validation errors, very poor semantics Decent indentation, just a couple validation errors, decent semantics Well indented, fully valid, good semantics

Evaluation

Pages & sections: 2 points. The home page and one porfolio piece page are done, but some section are missing.
Personality: 3 points. Unique and recognizable as you, with engaging, personable content.
Text content: 2 points. Real content. I would add more text.
Responsiveness: 2.5 points. Looks great on all screen sizes, exept for some small issues in the nav.
Code quality: 2 points. Used classes and groups. Not all coded
11.5/15 points :)

Keyboard Testing

Your website works fairly well using just the keyboard, a little confusing when navigating over the portfolio pieces, cause there is no hover to show which piece you are over.

Opera Mobile testing

Looks very cool Paolina! Everything works very well! I'd maybe make your images on your project pages 100%. For example, the sketches on garden life look pretty small on mobile.

| Pages & sections | Barely started | Missing lots of sections/pages | Has most of the sections/pages, some missing | All sections/pages exist and are well done |

2: Pages that are coded are looking good. Can only access work page and about page. (Cant access contact page, nav doesn't work in about me page.)

| Personality | Bland, boring, just another graphic designer | Fairly generic but may be better with visual design | Quality layouts and unique, personable content | Unique and recognizable as you, with engaging, personable content |

3: Theme looks great! The soft pastel colours are very you.

| Text content | Fake content only | Some real content, some fake | All real content but with lots of errors | Real content, well written, no grammar or spelling errors |

1.5 text could be a little more detailed in the work section

| Responsiveness | Not responsive | Works on some screens | Responsive but with lots of awkwardness | Looks great on all screen sizes |

2.75: Website works well responsively, the only thing thats a little off is the nav.

| Code quality | Barely started | Indentation is barely existent, lots of validation errors, very poor semantics | Decent indentation, just a couple validation errors, decent semantics | Well indented, fully valid, good semantics |

For this portfolio assignment I think I did well considering I struggle with coding so I was proud of myself. Doing this portfolio I found that I had a bit of issues getting used to not using markbot to tell me what i've done wrong. Also had to research certain things in google to figure out how to get it to work on my website. I applied this terms materials by properly using metadata and learning how to use Jekyll and understanding it.

My portfolio had the amount of detail I wanted, a good balance of photos and writing to help explain each individual piece in my portfolio. My portfolio also was very much like me in style and design, it matched my pieces well and suits me. I think my portfolio had enough text content to explain each piece, I did not want too much writing in my portfolio so It was a good amount. I have enough accessibility in my portfolio even though I did not put every alt. All the pages I wanted in my website exist and have high quality images! For responsiveness & performance my portfolio works well on the browsers I tested it on and is fast! Most of the content on my portfolio is very responsive and looks good in all screen sizes. Code quality, I think this part lacked a little since there was no bot yelling at me to fix my indentations. I think the code quality is decent enough.

Paulina's website is looking great so far! I really like the layout she used, it makes her design work the focal point of the site.

Creativeness: 3 I love how, even at this early stage, her wireframes are reflective of her style with the colour.
Effectiveness: 3 Definitely effective as a portfolio website as I notice her work first thing when I open the website. It's also simple to follow and navigate.
Quality: 2 There are a few tiny things to tweak such as making her logo responsive but it is great for this stage of coding!
Effort: 3 She definitely worked hard on her wireframes.
Code Quality: Strongly coded and good indentation.

Safari testing

  • The website is nicely responsive and passes the required checklist.
  • Love the calm pink colour and having the projects grayscale then coloured once hovered is a nice touch!

Paulina's website is looking awesome, she did a great job branding it to match her personal style. There are some minor issues with responsiveness on one of the pages but other than that it is coming along really nicely!
