I've developped this library during my internship in 2017. I do not guarantee that this library provides accurate computation and is bug free. If you want to contribute, feel free to submit pull requests or fork the project.

The main issue to address for me is to add unit-tests that prove the accuracy of the library.

Complete docstrings and use numpy docstring format

Doctsrings are inconsistent in the project. Some are extensively written and some others are at the bare minimum. It will be also be great to follow the numpy docstring convention, which is really common amongst other python modules.

EnvironmentError: pkg-config is not installed

Hi, I am trying to install birdsonganalysis using Anaconda (python 2.7.14) on Windows 10. I have installed "pkgconfig" but it constantly gives me the error "EnvironmentError: pkg-config is not installed". Any help/suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Write unit tests for birdsong feature extraction

birdsonganalysis lacks unit tests to assert that the song feature it computes are correct.
The tests should be extensive to show that it works whatever the fft_step, fft_size and freq_range chosen.

The results should be tested against signal built to match a certain value of amplitude, entropy… and maybe against results from a viable implementation on real bird songs.
