beaconfinder's Introduction

BeaconFinder

Finds beacons in a Minecraft world file and exports them to a text document.

A modified version of Sign reader (https://www.reddit.com/r/MinecraftDataMining/comments/7v783b/how_to_extract_signs_and_books_from_a_map/) by u/worldseed on Reddit.

How Do I Use The Program?

Place the jar file in the same folder as the level.dat file. Run the jar file and after it is complete the results will be saved to an output.txt file in the same folder. The output.txt file displays chunk information, coordinates, and how many levels of blocks are below the beacon. The jar file may take awhile to run in the background depending on how big the Minecraft save file is.
