Installation

Papirus Installer

Use the scripts to install the latest version directly from this repo (independently on your distro):

Install / Update

wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PapirusDevelopmentTeam/papirus-smplayer-theme/master/install.sh | sh

Remove

wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PapirusDevelopmentTeam/papirus-smplayer-theme/master/install.sh | env uninstall=true sh

Packages

Since SMPlayer version 16.6 and higher, Papirus and Papirus Dark themes were added to the package smplayer (smplayer-themes on Ubuntu).

If your version lower than 16.6 you can update SMPlayer from the official site.

Manual Install

1. Install dependencies:

   • git
   • make
   • librsvg2-bin
   • qtbase5-dev-tools

2. Run the following commands as normal user:

   git clone https://github.com/PapirusDevelopmentTeam/papirus-smplayer-theme.git
   cd papirus-smplayer-theme
   make build
   sudo make install
   

3. Start SMPlayer and choose a theme.

The interface remains light when a dark theme is applied

I tried many times but the issue seems to be more than a bad setting. The icons are properly set, dark icons are loaded for light themes and light icons are loader for dark themes, which is correct. However, whenever i set a light or dark Papirus theme, the color scheme remains light, leaving the dark themes unusable. None of the dark Papirus themes works properly, i installed the git version.
As smplayer themes are apparently not in "clear" code, i don't know what to do to correct this issue.

Dark theme for SMPlayer on a light theme DE like Breeze Light?

I asked on reddit and the only change that seems to work for having parts of SMPlayer change(like the background colour of the controls) is to use a styles.qss file. It seems to override the active theme in use, but from what I can tell, DE themes don't seem to be QSS based, so I can't just take the QSS of a dark theme.

I'm not sure how many other users prefer to only have some apps or parts of their DE dark themed and the rest light themed, I've raised an issue here, as it would be more useful as a generic base style rather than specific to SMPlayer I think.

For clarity, I placed the file at /usr/share/smplayer/themes/PapirusDark/style.qss. In SMPlayer settings, the Icon set is PapirusDark, the Style drop down beneath that is Breeze(there is no Breeze Dark listed here, but perhaps this would be more appropriate).

The Issue:
I've installed the themes for SMPlayer by moving the Papirus and Papirus-Dark folders (the ones with the rcc files, not the ones from src) to /usr/share/smplayer/themes/

The non-dark version works really well, everything loads up perfectly. However, Papirus Dark seems to be loading the default iconset, as shown in the screenshot.

Interface SMPlayer

I installed the theme and changed the icon option in the interface menu. But it doesn't seem to work. Should I do anything else? Thanks!

cp: '/tmp/.../': no such file or directory

Hi there.
When I tried to install the papirus-smplayer-theme I got an error that I think it comes from source code not my device.
Here is output of installer script:
OS: Fedora 27 x86_64
SMPlayer version: 17.11.2
