Essential tools and apps you are too lazy to install

Don't like to recovering your system from a backup? With this tool you can install a fresh copy of macOS or debian based linux any day and still have all the tools you want.

Requirements

• bash
• curl
• git

Usage

To get specific tools/apps, just fork this repo to fit your needs.

Easy install:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pablopunk/fresh-install/master/fresh-install.sh | bash -s

What does this install?

Check the fresh-install.sh file to see all the tools that are being installed. On the top, you can modify the variables to fit your needs.

fresh-install's Issues

Move casks-list from gist to this repo?

It could still pull the file remotely or just use it locally if it exists

Make it cross platform (mac/linux)

Add conditions for things like brew or Apple specific stuff and make this repo linux compatible.

Add cask fonts

brew tap homebrew/cask-fonts

Create command to download and use this script automatically

Like oh-my-zsh does:

sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/robbyrussell/oh-my-zsh/master/tools/install.sh)"

Fix nvm install

Add bun.sh

Setup rustup.rs

ssh key to github

Set system preferences

Every time I install MacOS, the first thing I do is going to Preferences>Trackpad and setup a couple of settings there. I should be able to do this with defaults write

Add `jq`

parse JSON on bash

brew install jq
apt install jq

Install tmuxinator

use ruby gems

Make it compatible with Raspberry Pi
