electrification-for-decarbonization's Issues

Lock down emission factors

Change emission factors to a result that user's cannot edit

If Fuel == "Other Fuel" then it should be editable

Add "Other" to eGRID list
If eGRID == "Other" then it should be editable

Emissions will now be 3 fields:
Carbon Emissions (kg CO2/MWh)
Methane Emissions (g CH4/MWh)
Nitrious Oxide Emissions (g N2O/MWh)

Small changes

Label for Electricity emission should be kgCO2/MWh

Units
Tonnes: instead of "Tonne" or "tonne" use "MT" (red circles)
in results, use MWh/yr instead of kWh/yr (highlights)

Last comment: relating to impact energy use savings:
Instead of calling it energy use savings at 2 places - maybe we should refer to it by ‘energy source’ name, i.e. ‘steam and hot water savings’ in the first instance – and not calculate the second instance? We are only saving MMBtu…
I think the commenter is confused, but I think their suggestion is not accurate. Need to think

Tom Requests

default the number of hours = 8760
default the NG cost = $4

Add to eGRID Region dropdown list: "PV/Wind". All the emissions numbers are zero.

Choose fuel unit

Reviewer: "Letting them choose the base fuel input unit rather than just having MMBTU would be good. "

This would require either putting in HHVs for the fuels ...

Or having it be a user input that the users need to enter.

Could handle the UI like how handled in pre-assessment Fuel-Metered:

This is potentially a bigger lift. Not doing right now

Update Emission Factors

  1. Update to latest numbers

  2. Add CO2e numbers as a secondary output (have just CO2 as one list and N2O & CH4 as a second list)

  3. Add a factor for T&D - see eGRID methodology

  4. Add result that is CO2e = CO2 emissions + {N2O + CH4} emissions

Gauge Problems

image.png

  • On small screens values start to overlap (shift % lower?)
  • get rid of decimal place in %
  • alternate to gauge? bar chart?

Post-meeting updates

  • Add units to bars
  • Fix over-flow/ scroll on last result table
  • Follow up - still need to add T&D outcomes?
  • Remove opacity on bar colors
