Raison D'etre

So there's this web site at LexBeerScene that someone (is it you?) keeps and up to date calendar of where our local food trucks will be. This is great! But what if I want toiew this data another way? What to know where the nearest truck is based on where I am at a certain time?

Here we will make a little process to scrape said webpage, semanticize the data it presents, detect changes, and publish it as an API for all to consume!

Don't know if the point of contact at LexBeerScene has been worked out yet, but checking out the their website, it looks like Chris Vandergrifft ([email protected]) might be it. If the website is to be believed, he's the one that manages the calendars.

IDEA: app for food truck drivers

To solve the data acquisition problem, could we built a phone app for trucks that would run in the background to provide real-time location data? Most if not all of these places use Square on an iOS device, so I don't think we'd be introducing a hardware problem. Furthermore, I think we could easily pitch it to truck owners as a way to bring in more customers.
