onetab.group's Issues

Enhancement: Tab group expand/collapse

It would be really nice to expand/collapse a tab group just by clicking on it anywhere and not specifically on the expand/collapse button at the very end of the screen. It gets annoying to have to move the cursor to the very right of the screen in order to expand any tab group. You can still keep the drag and drop on the whole horizontal empty space on a tab group, but make it work only when someone is actually doing drag & drop. When someone is just clicking, on the empty horizontal space, you can make it expand/collapse.

Moving Tabs

Hi there! I just installed the extension and am trying to get my 500+ open tabs moved around/configured... Not a job for the faint of heart, but I'm hopeful that your extension will help me figure it all out. ;)

Suggestions:

It would be much easier to sort my multiple windows of tabs if I could right click a link and be given the option to 'move' (like Google Drive, for example). I tried the side-by-side view but if I move something from the bottom of a session that has a HUGE list, I have to hold and drag to the right side and also scroll up to the header of the smaller session before I can drop it... Not as convenient as it could be.

It would also be nice to have the option to select links without them opening... Maybe a setting (that can be toggled off/on in settings?) where the user has to hold shift and click the link to open it (like in MS Office).

Lastly, it would be SO helpful if I could select multiple tabs to move from one session to another (again, like in Google Drive).

Maybe what I am envisioning is a Microsoft Outlook or Google Drive for tabs?? hahaha

Overall I think it's a great extension. I have spent months trying to find something that works better (for my purposes, at least) than Toby and other extensions floating around the interwebs. :| Found your post on reddit and thought I'd give it a go. :) I am hopeful that further development is expected/planned, as this is a fantastic start!

Feature: Show onetab page on chrome://newtab

As a user, it would help boost my productivity, if the onetab page opened whenever I open the New tab in chrome.

Right now, I have to manually move the cursor to the first tab where onetab is open. But, I am used to just pressing Ctrl+t to open a new tab. Between, pressing Ctrl+t vs clicking on the first tab or pressing Ctrl+1, I find the Ctrl+t option easier as compared to the other two. Also, this would be a common practice for anyone already using chrome. So, it would be really helpful to have this feature.

  • When clicked on a tab inside a Saved Session, that tab can then be opened within the same page, instead of opening it in a new tab. Otherwise, the onetab page would have to be manually closed everytime, making this feature more of an annoyance.
  • When clicked on a tab group inside a Saved Session, that group will open separately as happens now, but the onetab page gets closed automatically. So, I don't have to close it manually.
  • When clicked on a tab inside Opened Tabs, the control switches to that tab in chrome, and the onetab page closes automatically.

So, the way I see it:

  1. I was doing something in an existing tab
  2. Something popped up in my mind. Instant reaction: Ctrl+t (I open a new tab)
  3. Onetab page gets opened
  4. I choose the action I want to perform: Do a Google search, Go to a new URL not yet saved with onetab, Open a saved tab/tab group in onetab, Switch to an existing opened tab, etc.
  5. Viola! I get my focus to where I wanted it to be without spending any time on finding the right tab manually from the 80 tabs I had open in chrome with the power of onetab.
  6. Goto 1 -> Cycle repeats.

Autogrpup tabs by domain

I'd love to have new tab autoassigned to a group based on group rule (lie acid tab extension) so to have a single or multiple domain, or a series of wors that match into url, get automatically assigned to a group

Bug: Blank tab

Sometimes, when I do Open n tabs with Group from a saved session, some of the opened tabs don't really have any URL in their address bar. They have: about:blank. In preferences, I have configured Restore All Tabs / Tab Groups as Restore & Suspend.

This happens on a random basis. Sometimes, all the tabs open correctly, sometimes they don't. Closing the tab group and reopening it again from onetab, sometimes solves the problem, but sometimes doesn't. Weird!

Import from Session Buddy

Session Buddy is a session manager for Chrome.

They have a ton of users, but it's too slow to update, many users want the more useful features.

So. It's time to migrate your data from Session Buddy to One Tab Group

Shortcut key support for sending the tab into the latest session list

Hello,

Thank you for the amazing extension. Just figured it out there is an extension which supports tab groups like I imagined.

Well, I was using those below shortcuts on OneTab and I feel lack of them on OneTab Gruop.

And I still don't know how the sync works. I signed out with my Google Account, however, I am not sure how it's going to sync.

Thanks for the amazing work,
Mustafa.

click on tabbed icon and you loose all your sessions and groups !

Improve your UI design because when i clicked on the tabbed extention icon on tool bar's web browser, i loosed all sessions and ggroup created (that's terrible loose of time that make me go far from your extention).
By which logic it should be fine to loose all the sorting work and tabs opened by a simple click on an icon ? It is definitely stupid and counter productive.
There is some good ideas to have sessions and groups that can embed groups in a kind of tree organisation way, but without a safe and efficient UI design, it becomes unsafe and un-usable. It looks like an other one chinese gadget not finalized with lake of concern on absolute user's concerned priorities.

Categorise each session into a 'category/subject/workspace'

Hi, I am a student who is a tab hoarder and uses tab groups and I love your extension because I think this extension is the best that also offers saving sessions whilst keeping the tab group as well as having versatility with editing.

One thing is I have 1 or 2 windows for each subject I am studying and categorising the session under that subject is easier for organising and viewing from another device etc

Allow edit of tab urls

Some of the tabs saved have incorrect urls - I want to be able to edit it directly in in onetab instead of having to delete and replace it
