Problem Statement

At the time this Dataset was created in Kaggle (2016-09-09), the original version was hosted by Open Data by Socrata at the at: https://opendata.socrata.com/Government/Airplane-Crashes-and-Fatalities-Since-1908/q2te-8cvq, but unfortunately that is not available anymore. The dataset contains data of airplane accidents involving civil, commercial and military transport worldwide from 1908-09-17 to 2009-06-08.

While exploring through the data, The following question was asked about the dataset

1. Total number of Airplane crashes?
2. Yearly how many planes crashed?
3. Highest number of crashes by Airlines and Type of aircrafts.
4. Airplane crashes by the route taken

Data Sourcing

The data used was Airplane_Crashes_and_Fatalities_Since_1908 which was an excel file data downloaded from the github https://aka.ms/30DLDATGitHubRepo Data was then locally extracted from Excel Workbook into Power BI for transformation, analysis and visualization.

Conclusion and Recommendation

1. The total numbers of fatalities throuhgout the year was 42000
2. The greatest number of fatalities occured in year 1985
3. The highest aircrash was by American Airline

I recommended that Passengers are expected to follow instructions given by the cabin crew for safety reasons

The airplane engine and gas should be properly before taking off
