foreman-kube's Introduction

Experimental Kubernetes support for Foreman project.

by default, this deployment uses the published foreman image at https://quay.io/repository/foreman/foreman, and it does not include any additional plugins, if you require more plugins, please rebuild the image yourself.

This by no means is a replacement to the installer or should effect users besides the purpose of getting up an environment quickly

to use this repository

git clone [email protected]:ohadlevy/foreman-kube.git
cd foreman-kube
./deploy.sh

Your foreman instance should be available under https://foreman-prod.local (feel free to change the ingress) default user admin, password changeme

foreman-kube's Issues

Status

Is this still active and valid to use? We'd like to migrate foreman to K8s one day if possible.

Anyone actually got this PXE building?

Hi,

I've got the webui up, but systems I'm buiding can't detect a DHCP server, presumably because broadcast packets aren't reaching the Foreman pod. I expect easiest way to achieve is to set the Foreman pods to use hostNetwork: true, but in trying to change to this mode, rails fails to start, and I can't connect to the webui:

user@workstation:~$ k logs foreman-6f65fcb69f-vkdgf
2022-02-23T17:11:33 [I|app|] Rails cache backend: Redis
=> Booting Puma
=> Rails 6.0.3.7 application starting in production
=> Run `rails server --help` for more startup options
2022-02-23T17:11:35 [W|app|] You are trying to replace import_subnets from . Adding allowed actions from plugin permissions to the existing one.

Any ideas?
In normal pod networking mode, it starts fine and I can connect to the webui:
