GetFileAsync Excel Desktop about office-js

In the office-js-docs repo they say getFileAsync is now supported in Excel for Windows desktop (OfficeDev/office-js-docs#242). However, I am still getting the same issue.
Can someone confirm is this function is indeed available in the desktop Excel client?

Just found this. Just discovered this site after finding one tiny reference to it in the office-js-docs.

@stijnkiers Yes, it is at least the monthly release channel. Release Channel Information

I believe it became available in build 8326.2070, but I only say that because I've confirmed it works on that version.

I have not confirmed that it exists in other release channels even though they have higher build numbers.

Thank mweouse, that build number really helped. With my dev subscription the latest build I could install was 8201.2193. Using the latest build from an E3 subscription (8431.2079) it indeed worked.

The getFileAsync method was recently added to the monthly channel builds. The 2016-msi build doesn't yet have this feature. We do plan on back-porting this in Q1-2018.
