Installation

pip install oemof.tools

You can also install the in-development version with:

pip install https://github.com/oemof/oemof-tools/archive/dev.zip

Development

To run the all tests run:

tox

Note, to combine the coverage data from all the tox environments run:

Windows	set PYTEST_ADDOPTS=--cov-append tox
Other	PYTEST_ADDOPTS=--cov-append tox

oemof-tools's Issues

oemof.tools installed but not usable

According to oemof/oemof-examples#69, importing oemof.tools as follows

from oemof.tools import logger

may result in the following error message:

cannot import name 'logger' from 'oemof.tools' (unknown location)

First stand-alone version of oemof.tools v0.4.0

As we decided to create separate packages we had to create a tool repository. This repository contains tools that can be used by any oemof package.

Now it is possible to use this little helper functions without installing a big oemof package but by installing the small oemof.tools package.

Even though the documentation still needs a revision the package itself and the basic documentation is fine. So we will release v0.4.0 at 2020-05-11.

Add economic calculations to oemof

I think it would be great to just have some economic calculations based on a standard approach (e.g. NREL https://www.nrel.gov/docs/legosti/old/5173.pdf or VDI-standard). Maybe, if somebody has some money, we could just pay a HiWi for that...?

(we already have the annuity, yeah!), but LCOE etc. would be nice to, and I guess if you start thinking about it, there is much more...
