Octokit errors on typescript compile about core.js

Your typescript version is outdated. Can you try updating it?

No luck. I tried the following:

npm update -g typescript@latest

It is now showing version 3.8.3.

Also tried updating the version in the package.json. Still giving the same errors.

-g installs/uninstalls globally, not in your local node_modules/package.json. Try

npm install --save-dev typescript@latest

Hmm. It works when I run npm run build, but not when I just run the tsc command directly.

I'll just do it that way for now.

when you just run tsc, it will run it from your global typescript installation. When you run npm run build, it will use the local version.

Try

# global version
tsc --version
# local version used by npm scripts
./node_modules/.bin/tsc --version

they are probably different versions? Anyway, I don't think you should install typescript globally at all. I'd recommend to run

npm uninstall --global typescript

to uninstall it
