We don't keep our aws-credentials.txt file in /etc here at work for security reasons that occasionally astound me. However, the command s3-put barfs if there's not something at that path, even if I specify the -k or --credentials-file flags. As a workaround, I just touch-ed the file it was expecting. If I get a chance to look at the source, I'll attach a pull request.
