feedback's Introduction

nrrrdcore/feedback

This is a quick little ask-me-anything type of repository. It is forked from @mdo's feedback repo which was forked from @holman's feedback repo and seems like a pretty fantastic idea in lieu of traditional blog comments, email, and the like.

If you have any technical problems with Git or GitHub, you're better off asking GitHub Support directly, since you'll end up getting a much faster response back that way.

Ask a question

Asking a question is as easy as creating a new issue on this project.

I'll hit you back as soon as humanly possible. Say hi.

feedback's Issues

Hello from Seattle!

Hey Julie! I'm a nascent programmer based out of Seattle and I'm working towards changing careers from international development to software engineering this year. I'm currently learning HTML & CSS, teaching myself Ruby, and playing on Github, and I'm wondering if you have any tips for learning and growing at this stage? I love that this field is getting more open to women and I hope to give back and inspire other female programmers in the future. Thanks for whatever tips you have! -Rachel

Atom

What sort of ⭕ do I have to 🚀 through to get one of your Atom invites?

If its any help, my grandmother's maiden name is Horvath 👵

:)

How long time you're working at GitHub?

Diversity for Dummies

Having watched your contributions to the tech community and efforts to level the ratio over the last year or so, I think it’s safe to say you’ve some experience in the field.

I also think it’s safe to say that the lessons you’ve learned and knowledge you’ve accrued would be invaluable to the wider community. We need more agents for change in the field, and—though many may deny it—we’re all untrained in approaching the issue of diversity in tech.

I’d love to collate the advice of yourself and other torchbearers on how to initiate change in an organization—on a small or large scale—or, at the very least, reassess the issues on a personal level. Recommended reading, people to talk to; anything and everything.

It’s a big ask, I know, but any response will be greatly appreciated.

I should also take the opportunity to sincerely thank you for your efforts and tremendously hard and inspiring work over the years. You’re fighting the good fight.
