NodeSchool Dhaka August Meetup?

Can anyone organize a open workshop or meetup? This is might be for beginners. Giving them guideline, resources etc. Letting them know the power of node.js. Why should they use node.js etc. This might empower the node.js Bangladesh community.

I think it is time to meetup again.
nodeschool in dhaka has been inactive for a long time.

in addition to that I am interested in starting a conversation about a jsConf. we will need good speakers and suggestions on the format.

Wrong code in javascripting workshop!

In the workshop javascripting there is a lesson named "ARRAY FILTERING" and it has these lines of code:

I have tried to run these lines of code and got the following error:

SyntaxError: Unexpected token }

Active again nodeschool

A long time this group is seen to be inactive. Is there any plan to arrange a workshop or meetup and make it active again?

Next Nodeschool Event

It's been quite a while since the last event. Anyone have ideas on where and when we can do the next one?

I'm personally leaning towards a non-university event. As for location, we have Moar.

Nodeschool Dhaka event at BRAC University!

Hello guys,
We're trying to host a Nodeschool event at BRAC University. Our labs have around 20 - 30 PCs and 1-4 projectors. We normally hold workshops after 5:00pm in our campus. We can set up Nodejs and the workshoppers beforehand. We could do the basic JavaScript workshop ourselves and then do the Nodejs one at the event or do both in one day. We have not yet suggested any dates so you are welcomed to suggest convenient times.

Mentors, your co-operation would be much appreciated :)

Potential Finance Model

Make the event entry fee 200-500 BDT instead of free for the following reasons:

We can provide food on the night without having to deal with sponsors & recruiters
Free events have a really high drop out rate, so we run smaller events for people who really want to be there. More fun all round.

All the money will is put towards food & drink with any excess money going into a pot for stickers & swag. Other NodeSchool chapters are doing it too ( https://ti.to/nodeschool/london-nov-2014 ).

Showcase your node.js works @ nodeschool workshop

We had a great time at the International day event. One of the most exciting part was the project showcase. Interested Participants get the chance to showcase their work in node js.

We are proposing to make it a regular thing in our workshops. I know the time is limited in the 2-3 hour event, but it will definitely help to boost up the interest of the members:

How it works:

Interested people should ask in this thread if they want to showcase something.
They need to provide a Title for their project and a small Description explaining what it does.
Organizers will maintain the list of showcase topics. FIFO will be followed.
They will have to pick the presenters based on the time of workshop. For the regular format, only one showcase is possible. But in the day long events we definitely can accommodate more showcases.
Organizers will facilitate the time slot for the selected presenters.

Node Js c++ code base

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anybody of us ever explored node/iojs 's c++ code base? I think, we should explore the codebase and send some pull request to the main repo. I am little bit weak in c++, so if anybody already have explored the codebase and wants to help me then it will be great.

There will be a NodeSchool workshop on 4th April, 2015 (10 to 1) at DIU only for DIU students since they have limited seats in their lab.
