Yep, I think some docs for hardware/robotics would be really helpful. From what the install process is like to introducing libraries one might need for things like gpio, it's all valuable. Just pick something you think a newbie might want to know how to do to get started working with node and robots. 😄

@Frijol I saw your other issue here--you are @ Technical Machine, right? Is this something you might be interested in collaborating on?

@Qard I get the feeling most people do not work with node-serialport directly, and instead use Cylon or Johnny-Five.

Is the guide to be more low-level, or more practical?

If the latter, I'd probably have it walk the user through using one or both of the aforementioned packages. Also, Tessel has its own stuff too, I think.

I think it's probably best to focus on introducing what is available in the ecosystem and link to places where one can learn more about those things. Johnny-five, for example has plenty of documentation already, but lacks visibility to new users. I don't think the goal of the docs WG should be to duplicate community effort but rather to draw attention to it and fill in any gaps, if needed.

@boneskull at Tessel, actually (pedantic distinction)

Definitely interested in getting involved in this process. I've been writing http://tessel.github.io/t2-start/ lately

I'm going to close this as it's been dormant for over two years. Not a judgment or anything, just doing some tidying up. If anyone wants to pursue this, re-open this issue (if GitHub lets you) or leave a comment here. Or even better, open an issue in the main nodejs/node repository where it will get visibility. The docs are all there anyway and the Documentation WG isn't active and was de-chartered. (Hmmm....we need a word that's less harsh than de-chartered. It's expected that WGs will come and go.)
