Anyone looking to clear things with an employer, I've pushed a LICENSE file (MIT) to the root of the repo. If we like we can revisit this and go with creative-commons, but for now since we're planning on slurping up docs from the core repo I started us with that license.

I've invited everyone that's responded to this thread! If I've missed you, A) I apologize! and B) respond to the issue again and I'll invite you :)

I am interested as well :)

Yorkie([email protected]) is interested as well, recently I was working on a fork of YUIDoc(https://github.com/fireball-x/firedoc) so that i'm very happy if i can contribute to the docs part of node, thank you :)

All are, of course, welcome. :)
Just a note: we are currently in a transition stage of migrating content to https://github.com/nodejs/new.nodejs.org. If you want to add new content, please make your PRs there.
I'm planning on spending some time Friday evening to remove the content files from this repo and write a bit on the process of contributing docs.

I, Jeff Harris, have been interested in finding a way to contribute to back to node and I believe the Docs WG would be a good starting point!

Welcome, all! I'll do a run through tomorrow AM and get everyone added to the appropriate places.
As a heads up:

This has since changed! We're currently in the process of ratification, and as part of that we'll be looking to work inside of the nodejs/node repo itself.

I was already added as a collaborator to the repo (no one talked to me about it :P) as I said before I'd love to help with issues and review doc PRs and help. I can help with small contained tasks (like reviewing PRs, 1 hour meetings, or writing something but I don't really have the ability to commit to longer term projects).

Please count me in, too

I'd like to join this WG. I'm new-ish to Node, but have many years as an English teacher and journalist that I can put to use.
Looking forward to it.
from docs.
I think "new-ish to Node" is actually a bonus here! Outside perspective is fantastic, thanks @rodmachen!
from docs.
Absolutely. It's easy for those of us with our heads deep into the depths of node to miss deficiencies in the surface material of our docs and general presentation to new users. 😸

I'd love to put my hat in the ring, I hear it's not too late? - been looking for a way to give back to node and this seems perfect.

hey @chrisdickinson, is this still the go-to place for docs volunteering? came from https://github.com/nodejs/getting-started/blob/master/contribute_to_node.md which lead me to https://github.com/nodejs/docs/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md which lead me to here.
