devlabs's Issues

Flowlab (max 12 participants)

We will dive into an agile session where we will explore how work 'works' in a system.  How does work FLOW through an organization? We create for you today a safe environment, to fail, test and try out and eventually  learn Flow principles in a different way than a classical training. Sounds all a little bit strange? Well that is normal as I don't want to give to many details upfront.  :-)
I do guarantee you that it will be a good half day with a lot of learnings and collaboration.

Look forward to meet you all!!

Software Architecture: Getting Started

Do we really need architecture in agile projects? What does an architect do? Can an architect help to make rapid, agile delivery sustainable in a constantly changing world?

Software development has evolved. Agile is now the de-facto standard. The role of an architect in an agile project is very different than the typical role in a more classic waterfall approach. Using an updated interpretation of ‘viewpoints and perspectives’, this workshop will demonstrate how to make rapid, agile delivery sustainable in a constantly changing world. But make no mistake: this is a hands-on workshop. Roll your sleeves up and be prepared to learn while doing!

This architectural afternoon will be guided by Bart Blommaerts.

CSSSS [CSS Shiny Stuff]

In 2021 and 2022 a lot of features/module updates have been added to CSS (e.g. subgrid, layers, sizing functions, ...) time to explore what these will add to your daily CSS workflow.
This topic starts with a talk by Thomas Hertog and afterwards there is time to experiment with these brand new features!

HOW TO USE THIS BOARD

Dear Java Colleagues,

Usually we have a custom app to register for the topics. Unfortunately, dusting off the old app after two years was not a sinecure. This is why this edition we welcome you to this Github page!
You can do two things:

Register for an existing topic
As you can see, there are already some topics for the afternoon. We are excited to have colleagues present interesting topics. Add your name through a comment on the issue, this way we know what room we need to reserve for the according topic! (only the open issues are for this edition of DevLabs, the closed ones are for previous editions)

Add your own topic
DevLabs is an afternoon where everyone is free to experiment with a technology of choice. So if you have a certain technology/hobby project/... that you never find time to explore or you're stuck with something and you are looking for colleagues with expertise to help each other out, be sure to register your own topic! This is done by 'create new issue' and adding your name as a comment. This way, you can match up with other colleagues who have the same spark in their eyes with that specific topic!
Register your topic and see colleagues register for the same! You can collaborate closely or each work at your own pace, the choice is yours!
We will make open spots for all the topics and make some special arrangements when there are topics like IOT that require certain infrastructure.
